Giving of offering and taking of communion is available at any time the Lord calls you
to do so during the 11am service. Offering Boxes are available in the sanctuary.
What’s Available for the Children?
• Kids K-5th are always welcome in the services but also know they are invited to head
over to the ALL NEW KidMin Building (Building A) before services for their own age
appropriate worship (they are also welcomed to wait until before the sermon).
• Nursery care is provided for the little ones in the Lil’Min Nursery (Building B) You can
pick up your children in those buildings at the conclusion of services.
• Finally, there is a Sitting Room at the rear of the sanctuary if you need such a place.

CAFÉ IN THE HALL: A fun way to serve at 1st Church is serving the
treats at the Café in the Hall on Sundays! If you enjoy eating/food how
about bringing cookies on a Sun morning for others to enjoy? We also
need people to call our weekly cookie people to bring their
goodies. Come join this great group of friends. Please call or text me
212-7475 for details.
2nd SERV. SCRIPTURE READERS NEEDED: If you are interested in
serving on the Scripture Reader rotation for the 2nd service, please let
Amberlee Meeker know of your interest. Email her at
aemeeker2@gmail.com to sign up.
144 ENVELOPES: There is a board in the lobby with numbered
envelopes on it. We would ask you to pray about taking an envelope
and giving the amount that is on the envelope to the student ministry
for 2018. Funds received go towards sending students to camp, to
missions, and to the general youth fund.
FAMILY RETREAT: This year our family retreat will be held on April
13-15 at the Deerhaven Conference Center. The cost will be
determined by the desired accommodations that your family chooses
to do. Check our a brochure in the lobby to learn more.
BAKED POTATO LUNCH FUNDRAISER: On February 25th starting
at 11am, First Church will be hosting a Baked Potato Bar Luncheon
Fundraiser for only $5 per person. You’ll get a drink, potato and add
any of your favorite toppings. Additional Donations and proceeds go
towards helping fund this year’s Family Retreat.
PARENT CONNECT RESCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT: If you have
students in grades 6-12, we invite you to come to Parent Connect
Potluck tonight from 5-7:30p. The theme is On-A-Stick.
GIVE TO THE CHURCH THROUGH GIFT CARDS: A great way to
also give to 1st Church is by purchasing gift cards from Michelle
Nelson each week. Everything from Wal-Mart, to groceries, to favorite
restaurants are available. You get full price for the card you buy, but
church gets a % back. She takes cash or check.

Matthew 19:14 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children
come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the

pleased.” 12 And the Spirit immediately drove him out into the
wilderness. 13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan;
and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels waited on
him. 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee,
proclaiming the good news [b] of God, [c] 15 and saying, “The time is
fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; [d] repent, and
believe in the good news.” [e]

Be Enthusiastic
People 1 Samuel of 17:45-47 Baptism
Mark 1:9-15
Enthusiasm comes from a SPIRITUAL relationship
with a very good God.
With Mark, you sense the IMMEDIACY of the gospel.
Enthusiasm is not so much a product of the
We are ENVIROMENT baptized into as a much new as IDENTITY. it is a POSTURE
of our hearts.
Baptism is not a SAFTEY net.
Enthusiasm is born not out of human STRENGTH, but
Baptism CONFIDENCE is not INSURANCE. in God.
1.) TRUST God daily 2). WALK with God daily.
People of Baptism are on a MISSION.
3.) WORSHIP God daily.
As a kid, David ran into battle to serve his GOD, as
Baptism calls us to be STRAIGHTFORWARD for the
Kingdom king, He of God. walked on the roof to serve his COMFORT.
INTIMACY with God, will get you enthusiastic again.
