Erwin Music Scholarship. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2018. Erwin (1966- 2014), a native of Vermont, was a talented composer, arranger, and musician. He premiered over 200 arrangements/ original works in his short lifetime. He was a vital part of the New Hampshire seacoast music community and served as conductor of SWE from 1993-2006. SWE, established in 1984, is a 50-piece concert band, based out of Exeter, New Pets, Animals, Plus Hampshire. Comprised of musicians from all professional occupations and trades, SWE performs annually throughout New Hampshire, Maine and northern Massachusetts. Today, SWE performs under the direction of Artistic Director/ Conductor, Dr. Mark Stickney, who is Director of Bands at Plymouth State University and Assistant Conductor, Jonathan Roth, who is Music Director of the Shapleigh School in Kittery, Maine ------------------------------------------------------------ Health & Fitness GEORGETOWN – Small business owners wear all (or most) of the hats when it comes to their business. Here are but a few: Myth #1: “The perfect home is out there” Don’t walk into a home and expect everything on your wish list. You should have a list of “needs” and a separate list of “wants”. If you find a home that has most of the things you need decide if the other one or two will prevent you from being happy here. If not, go ahead and buy it. Don’t assume that the one with all of your needs AND wants is coming on the market soon. It may never happen. You don’t need to settle on a home but find something that you can live with and will make you any anyone else moving in to the home happy. Myth #2: “The listing information is always right” I can tell you from experience that this is a myth. I have made mistakes in filling out MLS informational sheets as has every other REALTOR® out there, we are human. All the information in MLS can be double checked by a buyer. If you question the size of a room, bring a tape measure and check it out for yourself. A good REALTOR® and/or owner will not object as it will certainly show them that you are interested in the home. Myth #3: “The asking price was too low”. As a REALTOR® you hear this from a seller occasionally when the home sells in the first day or when you receive multiple Real Estate • For Sale Real Estate Myths Sports • Sports • Sports By John McCarthy, Rowley Realty Buyer’s remorse is very common, especially in a crazy market like this one. However, Pets, Animals, Plus Health if you were comfortable & Fitness with the offer you made why second guess yourself? Isn’t the goal to get the house? Why not feel good about it? Myth #5: “Walk away from the deal if there is mold, radon, old furnace, etc.” None of these issues should prevent you from going forward or be seen as an automatic deal breaker if this is the house you want. Other examples are an old roof, termite damage and water in the basement. If something is significant like active termites for example and it wasn’t disclosed to you ask that the seller fix it. It makes absolutely no sense to walk away from a $500,000 home because you are focused on an old hot water heater that may need replacing in the next few years. Focus on the big picture. Myth #6: Foreclosures or Short Sales offer the best deals I have had a number of buyers call or come in the office asking “Do you have any foreclosures for sale? Or what is a short sale and why is X house priced so low?” What they are really asking is for a deal. The idea is that you can only get a good deal if it is foreclosed or a short sale. That is definitely a myth. Foreclosures come with lots of issues some of which you may not discover until you are the owner. Myth #7: I won!!! A myth when it comes to negotiation.
