Students with Children<br />

Child Care<br />

The Child and Family Development Center, located on<br />

the east side of the campus, offers full-day programs<br />

for the children of full time (minimum 12 credits) San<br />

Juan College students; a limited number of child<br />

care slots are available for staff and faculty. Infant,<br />

toddler and preschool aged children are eligible for<br />

enrollment. The Center maintains a waiting list and<br />

parents are encouraged to put their child(ren) on the<br />

list at the earliest possible date as the traditional wait<br />

time for enrollment is a year and a half to two years.<br />

Parents needing immediate care can find a list of local<br />

licensed centers and homes at nmkids.org.<br />

Students with Disabilities<br />

If you have documented physical, emotional, or<br />

learning disabilities, the<br />

Disability Services program<br />

is available to assist you.<br />

seeking accommodations each<br />

semester. Accommodations may<br />

include audio textbooks, note<br />

takers, test modifications, special<br />

Tutoring Center<br />

If you would like to enhance your learning, then check<br />

out San Juan College’s FREE tutoring services. The<br />

math, writing and science tutoring centers are located<br />

In Student Success Center, Room 1611.<br />

Tutoring is available at the following times.<br />

Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.<br />

Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.<br />

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.<br />

Username and password<br />

What’s my username and password?<br />

The campus logon account is the account you use to<br />

log onto the portal. Your username is the first letter<br />

of your first name, the first letter of your middle name<br />

(if you do not have a middle name, this letter will be<br />

skipped), the first 12 letters of your last name and the<br />

last two digits of your social security number.<br />

Example:<br />

Student name: Buffy A. Summers<br />

Social security #: 123-45-6789<br />

Username: Basummers89<br />

Your email address will be:<br />

username@my.sanjuancollege.edu<br />

Example: Basummers89@my.sanjuancollege.edu<br />

The default password is sjcp + the last four digits<br />

of your social security number. For example if your<br />

social security number is 123-45-6789, your default<br />

password would be sjcp6789.<br />

Password Security<br />

Your San Juan College password gives you access<br />

to your personal student information. Since your<br />

information is confidential, your password should be<br />

kept secure. If at any time you believe your password<br />

security has been jeopardized, you should change<br />

your password. If you forget your password, the Help<br />

Desk will reset it to something only you will know.<br />

Remember . . .<br />

Never tell anyone your password.<br />

You must log on to use any SJC computer.<br />

Test your login accounts in one of the SJC computer<br />

labs before attending your first class. This will<br />

ensure that your accounts are set up correctly and<br />

working properly.<br />

Always log-off the computer when finished.<br />

San Juan College provides every student an email<br />

account through outlook.live.com, with 10<br />

gigabytes of storage space. You may access your<br />

email from the MY SJC portal or mail.live.com.<br />

You can use your laptop computer on the SJC<br />

network if your laptop has a wireless network card.<br />
