Youth Hunter Education Camp The SCI Drayton Valley Chapter is thrilled to be providing sponsorship to support five youth in attending the 2018 Youth Hunter Education Camp facilitated by AHEIA from July 22 – 27, 2018. This is a five-day event of fun-filled learning activities with experts sharing their knowledge and providing instruction in the Alberta Conservation and Hunter Education Program, the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and much more! The camps are held at Alford Lake Conservation Education Centre for Excellence which is located approximately one-half hour drive West of Caroline in the spectacular foothills of the Rocky Mountains. If you have a child, or know of a youth, 12 to 17 years of age who may be interested in attending the camp this is their chance to submit an entry for this opportunity. Here is what you have to do: • Please have your child/youth submit a short story to us sharing what they enjoy the most about the outdoors and why they would like to attend this camp. Youth applicants whose parent/grandparent is a member of SCI-DV will be given first priority. • Mail this story to us at Box 6534, Drayton Valley, AB T7A 1R9 for arrival no later than April 1st. • All applications will be reviewed and five youth chosen to attend the camp with all expenses paid (with the exception of transportation to and from the camp). Camp value of $414.75. • Chosen youth will be notified by April 30th. • Any parents/adults interested in volunteering at the camp; please include this with the youth’s story submission as well! • Youth attending the camp will be looked upon to write a story about their experience at camp and submit to us along with photos to share in an upcoming edition of Hunter’s Edge. These camps are restricted to those youngsters who have not previously attended the AHEIA Youth Hunter 7 |
