Who am I?

“Heather, hard question but I need an answer you can only choose three words to describe my
spiritual walk…GO!”
“Argh and Ugh” surface. After prayer, I was able to respond somewhat intelligently.
Then, I volleyed the question back to Becky, her response for me was, “Brave, generous and
adventurous and when I ask the Lord, He says, highly valued in the Kingdom.”
Have you ever asked someone what they thought of you from the context of your spiritual walk?
Ask a friend grounded in the Word of God.
When people speak to us, we can choose to integrate their thoughts into our inner most being
or reject them. If their words line up with the Word of God, allow those precious, edifying words
in. Reject any words that ask you to reject your identity as a daughter or son of the God
most high.
Romans 8:17 (NIV): Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with
Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
I don’t yet know what it is to fully share in His glory, but I do know -- He is glorious! The words
Becky spoke over me I am still trying to integrate into my own understanding of ‘self’. The words
seem foreign a description of me not yet fully understood.
Proverbs 18:21 (NIV) The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat
its fruit.
Lord Jesus, help us to cling to Your word. So we might lift up others in the body of Christ to do
what You have called them to do. Give us fresh revelation of who we are in Christ. Embolden
us to speak life into every person our hearts touch. Remove our veils of false ‘self’ so we might
boldly enter the throne room agreeing with the Word of God and releasing Your blessings and
favor over those we love and all of creation. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
