2018 will mark the 30th year of hosting these internationally
recognized Bike Shows. The tour begins in Sacramento,
California on January 13th, then heads to Charlotte, North
Carolina on January 20th, then to Nashville, Tennessee
on January 27th, before going back for its second year to
Atlantic City, New Jersey on February 3rd and finally to Columbus,
Ohio. All ages are welcome to these family- friendly
events show casing hundreds of custom motorcycles.
The Easyriders Bike Shows are some of the longest-running
and most anticipated custom motorcycle shows of their
kind and are known for uniquely offering local “backyard”
builders a forum to compete and show their works of
motorized art side-by-side with some of the biggest names
in the custom motorcycle community. Basic bike show
competition entry is free of charge and all bikes are voted
on by the attending public as well as judged by Editors of
Easyriders and V-Twin magazines, who will be scouting for
bikes and builders to feature in the magazines.
Check out the Sons of Speed board track racing bikes built
by Billy Lane of Choppers, Inc. Each bike is a stripped down,
1000cc, American V-twin with no brakes and no clutch. They
are capable of traveling at speeds up to 80mph. These pre-
1925 bikes are a nod to early days of motorcycle racing that
took place on banked tracks built from wooden planks.
Master custom bike builders Cory and Zach Ness of Arlen
Ness Enterprises. Cory and Zach are the son and grandson
(respectively) of the King of Custom Bikes, Arlen Ness was
at the show. Their latest amazing builds and custom parts
for Harley and Indian motorcycles were on display. You
could have met Cory and Zach in person, got autographs
and had taken photos with them.
Michael Ballard, owner of the world’s largest biker bar, The
Full Throttle Saloon was in attendance with Full Throttle
Saloon semi, and authentic FTS merchandise.
Other guest appearances include Paul Yaffe, founder
of Bagger Nation and ranked as one of the true master
builders in the motorcycle industry today. See his killer
custom baggers, parts and accessories for touring bikes.
NTC Drift Trikes, one of the most popular features of
Easyriders Events in the past is back for another year
showing off one-of-a-kind trikes and demonstrating their
drifting capabilities every hour.
The Purrfect Angelz showed off their choreographed dance
performances live on the main stage and offered attendees
photo opportunities. The founder of the Purrfect Angelz, Lisa
Ligon, was the master of ceremonies for the 2018 tour.
HANNUM’S FAMILY-OWNED DEALERSHIPS REVIVES SCRANTON’S
‘ELECTRIC CITY HARLEY-DAVIDSON’
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 20, 2018 (Scranton, PA) - Hannum’s Harley-Davidson acquired Rommel Harley-Davidson of Scranton
today, marking Hannum’s fourth dealership in Pennsylvania and fifth nationwide. This family-owned business
(est. 1954) also owns and operates dealerships in Media, Chadds Ford and Sellersville, PA, as well as Rahway, NJ.
The newly titled Electric City Harley-Davidson - a revival of the dealership’s original name and nod to Scranton’s
unique historic identity - opened on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST.
The 32,000-square foot building, located at 1534 Scranton Carbondale Highway now houses hundreds of new and
used Harley-Davidsons. The selection continues to be second-to-none with available inventory from all five
locations now exceeding 500 units. Electric City also has full sales, service, parts and general merchandise
departments, with the same knowledgeable and experienced staff for which Hannum’s is renown.
“Between racing these tracks, riding the back roads and enjoying countless family adventures in the local
mountains, we have been ensconced in this area for a long time and were thrilled when this opportunity arrived,”
stated Tom Hannum III, a third-generation owner of Hannum’s Harley-Davidson. “The passion for Harley-
Davidson out here is undeniable and we look forward to welcoming customers both old and new back to Electric
City Harley-Davidson.”
Electric City hosted a well-received Grand Opening event on Saturday, February 17 th , which included live music
from Scranton’s own “The Hometown Boyz.” A full roster of Spring and Summer bike nights, workshops, and
events is also underway. More information is available at www.hannumshd.com. Follow Hannum’s Harley-
In 1954, Tom Hannum, Jr. was so passionate about motorcycles that he was able to convince his father, Tom
Sr., to sell his automotive business to purchase a Harley-Davidson franchise. So began the Hannum’s Harley-
Davidson dynasty, which continues to bring the “Thrill of the Ride” to customers throughout Pennsylvania,
Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and beyond. Hannum’s Harley-Davidson has been a family-owned and
operated business since it first opened its doors on Chester Pike in Crum Lynne in 1954. As the business
expanded the store was relocated to its current location in Media in 1959. A second location was added in
Chadds Ford in 2000, a third location in Sellersville, PA in 2015 and a fourth location in Rahway, NJ in 2016.
Family truly is at the heart of Hannum’s H-D. Tom Jr. was an avid racer and motorcycling enthusiast with a
great respect for the iconic American brand. Over the years he passed this passion on to his wife Rita and two
children, Tonda and Tom III. All three are actively involved in all aspects of the business today.
you come all blow hard and bad ass,
air sculpted face contorts into a grimace
internal groans sing harmony
with your jubilant howls
and drew her into his flame--
the thickness of his fingers
slid her legs nearer to his hips
the chill of autumn’s air
stole her breath
as the steady vibration of the engine
stirred her blood - intoxicated her soul --
As if one with their Harley stallion
they glided through Essex farmlands
on Old-New-England country-roads
nature’s foreplay teased their senses
their metal-steed’s tires kissed
each narrow twist and turn.
“Hang on, darlin..” he warned,
then cut the wheel off-road …
Their bodies banged, bounced up,
then smashed right back down
their boots found the foot-pegs
pushed hard and stood straight up
arms locked around his waist
heart pounded against her chest
breath froze in mid-air, and yet--
from deep inside her gut
she heard herself yell out:
“Don’t stop … Not now … Not ever!”
