Presbytery Report:<br />

A report from the Street Pastors who operate in Hawick & Gala advised of an incredible<br />

108 patrols.<br />

The overture of the General Assembly will be looking at the possibility of revising the<br />

Westminster Confession of Faith.<br />

Peebles Churches Together:<br />

The series of Praying Together – drawing the Churches together in sessions to see how<br />

prayers are done in other Churches started in January. This was an interesting and<br />

uplifting evening hosted by the Baptist Church in the Drill Hall. Over 20 people took part<br />

which was very encouraging.<br />

The next Session is hosted at St Josephs on Friday 23 rd March at 1pm. Soup will be<br />

served. This will be part of St Joseph’s Lent preparations, and those coming are asked to<br />

fast during the morning and to bring an offering for the Foodbank. Contact Tommy<br />

TOPCOP will be hosting the 3 rd session on Wednesday 30 th May in the MacFarlane Hall<br />

from 7pm. Plans are starting to formulate for this session, if you would like to help with<br />

The final session this year will be hosted by St Andrew’s Leckie Parish on 22 nd August at<br />

7.30pm. The theme of this session will be Young People. Contact Carrie Duthie –<br />

Adrian Plass – on 27 th April there will be a concert at St Andrew’s Leckie. Contact the<br />

A suggestion of a shoeshine as an outreach project for Easter was suggested and will be<br />

progressed by the Rev Benton-Evans.<br />

Christian Aid:<br />

TOPCOP will as usual host the Wednesday coffee morning.<br />

Market Stall – Sue, who usually takes charge of this, will not be available this year so<br />

there is the need for someone to take this over for this year. The main work will be<br />

required on the Thursday morning setting up the stall. If you would be interested in<br />

helping please let Janette Cameron know.<br />

24 Hours of Prayer – St Andrew’s Leckie are preparing for another 24 hours of prayer<br />

on Friday 23 rd March. See the Church transformed into an amazing area for differing types<br />

of prayer which gives the chance for all to come together to pray for each other, churches,<br />

national and international matters. A lot goes into this wonderful time, and if you would<br />

like to lend a hand by stewarding (you will not be left on your own to do this) please<br />

contact Heather at the Church Office on 01721 723121.<br />

Eco Church – the annual garden tidy up will be Saturday 17 th March. See the Magazine<br />

for further details.<br />

The next family walk will take place on Sunday 4 th March and will include going through<br />

the railway tunnel – not to be missed.<br />

Correspondence:<br />

An email has been received from Lee Myers on behalf of Borders fundraising group, The<br />

Borders Barmy Army Fundraising Group, who want to raise money for Macmillan by<br />

abseiling down the side of the clock tower. A full discussion followed when it was agreed<br />

to invite Lee to see the inside of the tower and to contact our Insurers and the General<br />

Trustees before a decision can be made.<br />

Next meeting will be 18 th April.
