File the test results with your periodic inspection records or
vehicle documents. For Operator Licence Requirements these
should be kept for a minimum of 15 months.
Please ask if you require two copies (e.g. selling vehicle), no
extra charge.

Wheel Security?
Many have no problems for years, then for no apparent reason
the issue arises.
To safeguard your operators licence you need a wheel fitting and
checking policy, including torque requirements!
This, together with records of wheel movements and evidence of
training will be beneficial if there are wheel security issues.
Specific Certified Training will be available in the near future.

There are many types of locking
devices on the market. Prolock are a
personal preference.

Daily Walk Around Checks.
The first step towards maintenance compliance.
At six week inspection intervals it could be 41 hard days and
sleeps before the vehicle is back for a routine check! Operators
need to be certain daily checks are done right. Working with
multi award winning Checked Safe we are in the process of creating
a training and certification process to support this obligation.

And Finally DCPC Training!
The introduction of the Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence
had high aims. Reducing accidents, raising the professional
profile of those working in the transport industry, and enhancing
the image of the industry. These were common objectives.
Sometimes new legislation does not always produce the intended
results and allowing drivers to repeatedly take the same modules,
purely to meet the legal requirements, may seriously damage
the credibility of the scheme.
Post Brexit, the DCPC is likely to remain, in order to allow British
drivers to use EC roads and vice versa. We must make the best of
it as an investment in ourselves and our industry.
Having trained with the Road Transport Institute Training Board
to deliver DCPC Modules, I am keen on working with operators
and drivers to engage in providing DCPC training that is relevant
to their needs and enhances their work.
