THE WINNETKA CURRENT Winnetka trustees introduce proposal for Plan Commission member reduction After a spirited debate and public comment session, a majority of the Winnetka Village Council introduced an ordinance reducing the Village’s Plan Commission from 13 to 10 members at its Tuesday, March 6 meeting. The ordinance, which was introduced in a 4-1 vote, would eliminate a requirement that three members come from the Board of Park Commissioners of the Winnetka Park District, the Board of Education of The Winnetka Public Schools District. 36, and the Board of Trustees of the Winnetka- Northfield Public Library District, respectively. The ordinance was presented by President Chris Rintz, who said that it mostly emerged out of “a very lively discussion” at the Council’s Feb. 13 study session.
