Hello everyone From the Programme Editor In the East Grinstead Programme I included some information on the way that promotion and relegation at the end of this season will operate. In this programme I have included a questions and answer session between the Non League paper and representatives of the FA National leagues system concerning the changes. Things have turned dirty as far as Dulwich Hamlet and their ground owners and at the time of reading this Dulwich Hamlet may well be locked out of their ground..we of course know all about that! The most surprising move by the developers to me is that they have trademarked the names Dulwich Hamlet football Club and The Hamlet as well as the initials DHFC! And that the football club may not longer use them Now to me this is ridiculous and don’t any of you go out and register Sittingbourne Football Club and the Brickies as trademarks (please!). I’m no lawyer but I cant imaging that this is legal. An update on this is that the owners have now sent Hamlet a message rescinding the trademark ownership! However that letter contains a whole lot of strings that they want the council to act upon..which the council will not do. Along with this Hamlet have received a bill of £121,000 in back rent which I’m sure there is no way that they can pay. Stay tuned for the next exciting instalment of this David and Goliath battle. Personally I think it will end with the council compulsory purchasing the site and then leasing the ground back to the club! I didn’t like the result from last Tuesday (or for Saturday for that matter) but you have to say that our pitch looked good after all of that snow and freezing temperatures, so we must really thank Roger our groundsman and his helpers for a marvelous job. Talking of the ground when you read this there may well be a camera tower erected. All we need now is a camera person, so if you are keen to film the games then please see a committee member. Apart from the result I hope that all of the supporters that made the trip to Guernsey enjoyed the day and for some of you the weekend. John and our wives stayed this time in Jersey as there is only so much you can see in Guernsey! It was a bit hectic though. Our return flights from Gatwick to Jersey was £37 each (Bargain) whilst our return flights from Jersey to Guernsey (about 15 minutes in the air!) was well over a £100 !! We now all definitely need a pick me up so lets hope we can get something out of the game tonight!
