Mid <strong>Mountains</strong><br />

Autumn has arrived with cooler<br />

temperatures <strong>and</strong> the lovely colours<br />

will soon be turning the town red.<br />

The Mid <strong>Mountains</strong> has many<br />

incentives, so swing off the highway<br />

on your way up <strong>and</strong> enjoy one or more<br />

of the various activities available. Stop<br />

in to check out the new restaurants.<br />

ANZAC Day, commemorated on 25<br />

April each year, is the solemn day of<br />

remembrance of those Australian <strong>and</strong><br />

New Zeal<strong>and</strong> Army Corps soldiers<br />

who fought <strong>and</strong> died at Gallipoli in<br />

1915. It is also a day of remembrance<br />

Meet up with fellow walkers for a 45-<br />

60 minute stroll around local Lawson<br />

streets, starting at the Mid <strong>Mountains</strong><br />

Community Centre New Street,<br />

Lawson. 9.15am for a 9.30 start. Lawson<br />

Parkrun, is a free weekly timed 5km<br />

DESIGN your own Art Trail<br />

There are 13 artists in the lower <strong>Blue</strong><br />

<strong>Mountains</strong> opening their studios for you<br />

to visit on the weekend of Saturday 7 April<br />

<strong>and</strong> Sunday 8 April between 10.00am <strong>and</strong><br />

4.00pm.<br />

You can visit all 13 over the weekend <strong>and</strong><br />

stay overnight in any one of the hundreds of<br />

places to stay, or you can design your own<br />

arts trail <strong>and</strong> only visit the media you are<br />

interested in.<br />

With many different media to choose from<br />

you are bound to find an artist with the style<br />

that you love <strong>and</strong> you’ll want to spend the<br />

whole day with them. On this trail the artists<br />

include encaustic, painting, photography,<br />

mixed media, glass art, writer, mosaic <strong>and</strong><br />

visual artists.<br />

The <strong>Blue</strong> <strong>Mountains</strong> Artist Network fosters<br />

emerging artists <strong>and</strong> also supports existing<br />

<strong>and</strong> successful artists. These trails are<br />

designed not only to help you discover<br />

yourself, but to help others discover you as<br />

well.<br />

Whether you are a budding artists <strong>and</strong> not<br />

sure of your style, you want some inspiration<br />

or just wish to spend some time with others<br />

on the same journey, this trail is sure to<br />

deliver that <strong>and</strong> more.<br />

free live music from 8.00pm on the<br />

second <strong>and</strong> third Thursdays of the<br />

month. On Monday nights their Trivia<br />

contests generates a lot of interest.<br />

south of the town on the Great<br />
