GIVE BACK & MENTOR A LOCAL JUVENILE<br />

Please commit to becoming a positive adult role model for the<br />

youth in our community. The juveniles are referred by the Fort Bend<br />

County Juvenile Probation Department. There are so many children<br />

in need of a listening ear and encouragement. Come forward and<br />

be that person for someone in need… you may be the ONLY one!<br />

Mentors must be 21 years of age and willing to give a minimum of<br />

CHILD ADVOCATES OF FORT BEND<br />

SEEKS NEW VOLUNTEERS<br />

Do you like children and want to make a difference? Child Advocates<br />

of Fort Bend is looking for volunteers to advocate for abused and<br />

neglected children. Opportunities include being an advocate for<br />

children in foster care or helping out in the Children’s Advocacy<br />

Center one morning or afternoon each week. Volunteers must be over<br />

21 years of age, complete an application and interview and submit<br />

Child Advocates of Fort Bend is a non-profit agency dedicated to<br />

providing a voice for abused and neglected children in Fort Bend<br />

County. With an army of volunteers, Child Advocates of Fort Bend<br />

serves more than 400 children each month through its Court Appointed<br />

Special Advocates (CASATM) Program and Children’s Advocacy Center.<br />

MOMS CLUB OF FULSHEAR/SIMONTON<br />

We are a nonprofit support group for stay at home and part time<br />

working moms. Beyond the social aspects of our playgroups and<br />

Moms Night Out gatherings, we are service project group driven to<br />

WILLOW FORK PARK<br />

<strong>April</strong> 21 st , 9-10 AM: Wildlife of <strong>Katy</strong> Neighborhoods<br />

Meet with Texas Master Naturalists and learn about common wildlife<br />

seen in the <strong>Katy</strong> area. Skeletons and pelts will be available to hold and<br />

feel. The 1 hour program starts at 9 AM at the pavilion at Willow Fork<br />

Park.<br />

May 5 th , 9-11 AM: Backyard Garden Insects in <strong>Katy</strong><br />

Meet with Texas Master Gardeners to learn about the role insects<br />

such as Butterflies, Bees, Hunters and Pests play in your garden. We<br />

will have displays, live specimens, plant suggestions, activities and<br />

Entomology presenters to show, tell and teach. The 2 hour program<br />

starts at 9 AM at the pavilion at Willow Fork Park<br />

Located at the northwest corner of 99/Grand Parkway and Cinco<br />

Ranch Blvd., north of Cinco Ranch High School. These are familyfriendly<br />

programs for all ages.<br />
