Joyce and Barry Vissell, a nurse and psychiatrist by training,
are the authors of the popular books, The Shared Heart, Models
of Love, Risk to be Healed, The Heart’s Wisdom and Meant to
Be. Ram Dass calls Joyce and Barry “true bhaktis”, a couple who
live the yoga of love and devotion. They are two people deeply in love
for 47 years, who have raised three children and “walk their talk”.
They lead workshops internationally on relationships, parenting and
personal growth.

of the body, mind and spirit. We will include the children in
family activities by making a special body care product to take
home and by joining together to sing, dance and move each day.

Spiritwalker: Accessing the Inner Worlds for
Power, Knowledge and Spiritual Healing
As we approach the end of our current
cycle of ages, increasing numbers of Western
spiritual seekers are learning to access the
inner worlds for power and protection,
support and healing, utilizing an ancient
method of meditation called shamanic
journeywork. This weekend workshop
will provide participants with a powerful
introduction to the shaman’s path, leading
them into connection with their helping spirits and spirit
teachers, exploring the issue of personal empowerment. The
weekend will close with a healing ritual. Bring a hand drum or
rattle, a notebook, an eye shade and a light blanket.
Hank Wesselman, anthropologist, has spent much of his life
with traditional people in Africa. He is the author of eight books on
shamanism. His most recent are The Bowl of Light: Ancestral
Wisdom from a Hawaiian Shaman and Awakening to the Spirit
World (with Sandra Ingerman).
