Camp Overbrook is a summer program for rising three-year-old<br />

preschoolers through eighth grade students. Choose from academic,<br />

art, athletic, cultural, culinary, outdoor adventures, service,<br />

STEM camps and so much more! Our camps offer excellent<br />

instruction from experienced instructors. Let the adventure begin!<br />

Please Note: The two weeks of camp offered in June consist<br />

of boys only camp programs, whereas the camps offered during<br />

the months of July and August consist of co-ed camp programming.<br />

BEFORE AND AFTER-CARE: Camp Overbrook is happy to offer<br />

before and after-care from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.<br />

Campers will enjoy a snack, play games, and participate in various<br />

activities. Cost is $30 per week for before or after-care, $50<br />

for both. Sign up during camp registration. Before and after-care<br />

for June camps will be in the St. Cecilia gym. Before and aftercare<br />

for July camps will be in the Overbrook School gym.<br />

REGISTRATION: Registration is not complete until payment<br />

is received. A camp giveaway for the week and a snack during<br />

each day of the camp are included in the camp fee. A medical<br />

and photography release form for each camper must be completed<br />

as well. Athletic camps require a signed concussion statement.<br />

Families with more than one camper should register each<br />

child separately. The grade level for camps is the grade a child<br />

enters in August 20<strong>18</strong>.<br />

DROP OFF/PICK UP: Drop off and pick up will be in the Overbrook<br />

gym lobby. Please bring your child into the Overbrook<br />

gym lobby on the first day of camp to verify necessary information<br />

before camp begins. Check in will begin at 8:30 a.m. on the<br />

first day of each camp week for the morning session and 12:30<br />

p.m. for the afternoon session. After the first day, drop off will<br />

begin at 8:45 a.m. for morning sessions and 12:45 p.m. for afternoon<br />

sessions. Campers dropped off before 8:45 a.m. will report<br />

to before-care at the $10 per day drop in rate. Campers not<br />

picked up by 4:15 p.m. will go to after-care at the $10 per day<br />

drop in rate.<br />

LUNCH: Campers who stay at Camp Overbrook for both morning<br />

and afternoon sessions should bring a sack lunch and water<br />

bottle. Campers will eat together and be supervised by camp<br />

staff during the time between sessions.<br />

ALLERGIES: Please inform Camp Overbrook of any food allergies.<br />

Baking, cooking and camps listed as having food as part<br />

of their curriculum are not allergy-free. Camp staff will provide<br />

allergy-free snacks to those who request them.<br />

REFUNDS: We will refund 75% of your camp fees only if it is<br />

requested in writing prior to May 1, 20<strong>18</strong>. We cannot make any<br />

refunds after this date. Camp sessions require a minimum of six campers<br />

to run. If camps do not meet the minimum, you will be notified at least<br />

two weeks prior to camp start date. We will make every effort to move your<br />

camper to another session during the same week and time. If for some reason<br />

this is not possible, we will refund your payment in full.<br />

as the United States Capitol. The campers will also be encouraged<br />

to be creative and build from their imaginations without instructions.<br />

of the Over the Brook Farm. Learn about insects, vegetables, soil<br />

and worms while playing games, making art, reading stories, singing<br />

songs, and running through the sprinklers! If your child loves<br />

getting dirty, being creative, and learning about animals and plants,<br />

this camp will be a hit!<br />

creations made with the products grown on our<br />

Get creative and enjoy getting your hands dirty with clay! This<br />

camp focuses on hand building sculptural and functional<br />

forms. Discover the fundamental building blocks with<br />

methods such as coil, pinching, and slab construction<br />

to create the project of the day. Student artwork will<br />

need some time to dry and be fired in the kiln. Plan<br />

on returning to campus in July to pick up the kiln fired<br />

clay creations. Your future sculptor or potter will be so<br />

learn about the importance of art and illustration in books through<br />

analyzing, interpreting, and interacting with their own book<br />

themed creations. Most importantly, campers will build confidence<br />

It’s Electric! Engineering Enlightenment:<br />

Grades 3-5 $<strong>18</strong>0<br />

Designed for our engineers and hands-on tinkerers, this camp is<br />

a fun introduction to electricity and electrical engineering.<br />

Campers will learn to manipulate electronics using snap<br />

circuits. Creating working circuit boards just like the ones<br />

found in televisions, radios, and other electronic devices.<br />

Our instructor is an experienced engineer and will<br />

guide campers as they build a musical doorbell, a voice<br />

controlled lamp, a flying saucer, and a lit police siren!<br />

Players of all levels will have the opportunity to build skills and<br />

confidence through ball work, exercises, drills, game strategies,<br />

challenges. Puzzles will include visual conundrums,<br />

visual-spatial challenges, numeric enigmas, scavenger<br />

Canterbury Tales Puppet Theatre: Grades 4-8<br />

Dramatic Arts *$275<br />

Join the troupe for a creative drama workshop melding puppet<br />

making and performance. Campers will base their performance<br />

on the classic Canterbury Tales.<br />

Students and the teacher will read the stories, pick a character,<br />

write a script, and construct a puppet to be used for performance.<br />

This is an all-day workshop and will run from 9-4 with an hour lunch<br />

break on campus. Please send campers with snacks and lunches, as<br />

We will go to the roots of storytelling. The elements of writing<br />

creatively will be addressed as we develop a story of ideas,<br />

invent characters, analyze plot structure, and determine an appropriate<br />

point of view. We will look at the importance of “showing”<br />

the reader rather than “telling” the reader through discussing how<br />

to write good descriptions. By the end of the week, campers will<br />

leave with a portfolio of creative writing pieces to share with family<br />

and friends.<br />

Dance, Dance, Dance *Girls Only:<br />

<strong>CAMP</strong>S<br />

Grades 4-8 $130<br />

A jazz, ballet, and lyrical skills camp for your aspiring dancer. This<br />

camp will focus on technique, movement, and performance.<br />

Dancers will not only learn how to properly move their body to<br />

music, but they will learn what it takes to be a performer. The<br />

week will culminate with a small performance highlighting what<br />

the campers have learned. Please wear comfortable clothing and<br />

bring jazz, ballet shoes, or socks. No prior dance experience required.<br />

Ring with Me! Handbells: Grades 5-8 $125<br />

A novice to beginner handbells class for melodic ringing fun.<br />

Campers will learn basic ringing techniques, music theory,<br />

and be introduced to the historical use of bells throughout<br />

the ages. Join us for a week of handbell ringing! No experience<br />

is required! This camp is designed for beginners who<br />

have played for less than a year or who have no experience.<br />

Greeting Cards Galore<br />

Create unique and special cards for family and friends in this fun<br />

and relaxing camp! Campers will incorporate hand stitching, embroidery,<br />

useful stitching skills. Campers will go home with a binder of all<br />

patterns used in class and a portfolio of greeting cards to gift or<br />

A Victorian Era Summer Camp<br />

Step back in time and learn what kids in the Victorian Era did<br />

for fun and what their daily life was like. Campers will spend<br />

the week playing croquet, cross stitching, scrapbooking, learning<br />

table manners, letter writing, playing games, and more.<br />

Cap the week off with a scrumptious Victorian tea party.<br />
