Fast Lane Biker April 2018

Hello everybody and welcome to the APRIL issue of Fast Lane Biker. Spring has arrived finally, although you would never know with all the snow on the ground. There are a lot of things happening in the Tri-State area. One major change is Staten Island Harley-Davidson is moving to a new location. The new owners have decided to move out of the Bay Street location and relocating to Forest Avenue on the opposite side of the Island, which is just over the bridge. We at Fast Lane Biker are playing with new technology and looking to make a few new changes within the website.

My Mistress Highway
There Is A Light On
Her grey and seasoned asphalt
beckons to my soul
Inviting me to hop on board
making my life full
This mistress that I’ve grown fond of
puts on quite a show
Her curvy lines, some smooth, some rough
Who knows how far she’ll go?
Enticing me to give a twist
Her lure I can’t avoid
It somehow seems she gets a kick
as with me, she has toyed
She’s taken me to wild places
lookin’ for a thrill
Upon her back, feelin’ good
She never tells me “Chill”
Her long and slender legs
stretch in front of me
taking me to wondrous places
setting my heart free
Her seduction has me yearning
For more of what I lust
So I’ll stay late, enjoying it
way on past the dusk
Guess I better head back home
underneath the moon
As I start to turn around
she whispers “ya’ll come back real soon”
Go For It
Gotta pay your dues in this life
There's no easy way to go
Have to take your share of roadrash
Out there on the road
The only way to get anywhere
In this messed up life
Is to get your Bike in gear
And leave the past behind
A Prayer In The Wind
how I wish I could
lean into you
rest my head
against your back
listen - listen
to the road
to recharge
feel your strength
inside my heart
how I wish we could
ride the wind again
Rust In The Wind
There's a light on in the universe
For a sweet soul heading home.
She will stop for short goodbyes
For her spirits now her own.
She was feisty when her feet dug in
She knew when to back away,
She backed down to no one though
Before she had her say.
Tragedy was a constant friend,
In a lifetime sometimes cruel,
She picked up life when sadness ended
Yvonne always knew life's rules.
I knew her in the happy times
Some thirty years ago,
I knew her in the sad times
We were good friends you know.
She left us all to soon,
Life said she couldn't stay,
God lit a lamp across the universe
So she could find her way
Ashes to ashes Rust to rusty
Surprised that I lived so long to get crusty
All the wild times shared with my Pan
certainly made me a much wiser man
Pan is now old or so I'm told
both of us surely have grown some mold
Scalp going bald Beard turning grey
Pan, she has also seen much better days
No use in raging guess it's just aging
Both of us running Life's roads we're engaging
Making the best of time we still have
Fuel is the ointment Oil the suave
Going down the road lightens our load
Seeking adventures while we corrode
Still, we enjoy taking in wind
Wonderful pleasures Almost a sin
So, I can't quit as on her I sit
Pan's been so sweet! She's been a great fit
Rust if she must Her I still lust
We'll just keep riding
Rust in the wind
Riding On
Ink and iron
Spoke n words
Grease and oil
Two wheels turn
Nuts and bolts
A wrench a pen
Until the end
Tales be told
Lived each day
Legacy left
Behind in rhyme
Sharing the miles
Of our lives
