Day 1 Arrive Lhasa On arrival in Lhasa you will be
met by your Scenic Tours Representative and transferred
to your hotel (flight not included). Lhasa, ‘City of the Sun’
is one of the world’s highest cities so use your free time
to rest and acclimatise. The spectacular isolation of the
great Tibetan plateau continues to intrigue and enchant
travellers the world over. Tibet is a land of soaring
mountains, magical monasteries and an ancient Buddhist
culture. This evening enjoy your Included dinner. Four

Day 2 Lhasa Begin your day with an Included visit to
the 1,300 year old Jokhang Temple, one of the oldest
and most sacred sites in Tibet. Immerse yourself in the
culture and history of this spectacular golden roofed
Temple which is always awash with pilgrims, the smell of
yak butter lamps and incense. Join the pilgrims as they
prostrate themselves along the holy Barkhor Circuit,
known as the kora and follow this wandering through
the Barkhor Market with many colourful sights. Included
visit to Drepung Monastery which was once the world’s
largest monastery housing more than 10,000 monks.

Day 3 Lhasa The extraordinary Potala Palace, once
the winter home of the revered Dalai Lama, dominates
Lhasa’s skyline with its immense walls. During your
Included visit explore the incredible maze of corridors
and more than 1,000 rooms, including the Red Palace.
Drive a short distance outside Lhasa for your Included
visit to the well preserved Sera Monastery, where
the monks can be seen in their distinctive red robes
and curved yellow hats. The courtyard comes alive in
the afternoon where monks gather in heated debate.

Day 4 Lhasa Included Scenic FreeChoice activity select
from: (1) visit Braille without Borders, a program for
the blind children in Tibet; or (2) learn the secrets
to momos and other Tibetan recipes with a cooking
class; or (3) relax with a yoga or meditation class with a
Tibetan yoga master. Meals: FB
Day 5 Depart Lhasa After breakfast take your
Included transfer to the airport for your onward or
homebound flight (flight not included). Meals: FB

extension which can be added to the end of your 15 day Iconic
China (CHSP) or 10 Day China Express (CHEX) tour. The 5 day Tibet
Adventure must be booked in conjunction with a Scenic Tours Tour in this
brochure. Single supplement on request. Tour itinerary and prices valid for
departures from 01 May 2013 to 30 Apr 2014. Scenic FreeChoice in Lhasa
on Day 4 must be booked prior to final payment. Bookings are subject to
availability. Due to Lhasa’s altitude above 3,000 metres, guests need to
