The Thomas A. Glazier Senior<br />

Education Center<br />

Commissioner Steve Radack, Harris County Precinct Three<br />

The Thomas A. Glazier Senior Education Center is located at 16600 Pine<br />

Forest Lane, 77084; one block south of the intersection of HWY. 6 and Clay<br />

Road. All classes/programs are FREE for Harris County residents aged<br />

55+. Must register in person with photo ID in order to participate in the<br />

program and attend all future classes. You may register Monday-Friday<br />

from 8 AM – 3:30 PM. If you have questions or need directions please call<br />

us at 713-274-3250.<br />

Volunteer Opportunities are available; please call to speak to us about<br />

teaching your own cooking, language or other class.<br />

The center is closed due to flooding. We are diligently working on getting<br />

the building back up and running soon! Once it re-opens, ongoing<br />

programs can resume as follows:<br />

- Spanish, French, Computer, Email, IPad, IPhone, Genealogy and<br />

Watercolor Classes are available year-round.<br />

- Senior Boot Camp. Meets on all Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays from<br />

9-10 AM.<br />

- GYROKINESIS Chair Exercise Meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from<br />

9:30-10:30 AM and Fridays from 10:15-11:15 AM; therapeutic, gentle,<br />

healing, exercise class for all levels; helps deal with pain, stress and<br />

anxiety.<br />

- Laughter Yoga. Meets every Wednesday; Laughter is a positive energy<br />

which improves health, mood and encourages the body to fight disease.<br />

It is a powerful antidote for depression, high blood pressure and stress<br />

and helps the immune system, 10:30-11:30 AM.<br />

- Zumba Classes for seniors Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at<br />

8 AM.<br />

- Guided Meditation classes meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9 AM<br />

and Meditation for Relaxations meets Thursdays at 8:30 AM.<br />

- Chess Club meet up every Friday. Come practice strategy skills with<br />

other seniors, 1-3 PM.<br />

- Dance Classes meet on Mondays from 10:15-11:15 AM and on<br />

Wednesdays from 11 AM-Noon.<br />

- Bollywood Dancing and Bhangra with Simi Mondays and Fridays from<br />

8-9 AM<br />

- Tai Chi meets on Mondays and Fridays from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM.<br />

- Line Dancing every Monday at 1 PM and 2 PM and Wednesday and<br />

Friday at 2:30.<br />

- Yoga every Friday at 1 PM.<br />

- Meditation Classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays<br />

- Seventy-Five Plus and Fabulous Support Meetup for seniors 75 plus<br />

meets every Tuesday from 11 AM-12 PM.<br />

- Yoga Fridays, 1 PM.<br />

- Chinese Meditation ‘Circle of Friends’ on Fridays, 11:30 AM-1:30 PM<br />

- Glazier Choir, Tuesdays, 1-2 PM<br />

- Midweek Fitness and Health Class, Tuesdays and Thursdays. For<br />

beginners or those with some physical limitations. 2:30-3:30 PM<br />

- Bollywood and Bhangra Dance with Simi. Mondays and Fridays, 8-9<br />

AM<br />

- Learn to Play Mahjong. Every Wednesday, 1-3 PM<br />

- Brain, Body and Gut Healing Exercises - meets every Thursday from<br />

Harris County Precinct Three Commissioner Steve Radack has opened<br />

the much anticipated Richard & Meg Weekley Community Center.<br />

Located at 8440 Greenhouse Road, the center is now open to the general<br />

public for a variety of programs and activities. The approximately 21,000<br />

square foot building will serve the community as a center for all ages.<br />
