3) Apologize and Do-Over<br />
We teach our children <strong>to</strong> apologize when they make mistakes and behave badly. The best way <strong>to</strong> model<br />
that, is <strong>to</strong> sincerely apologize and seek forgiveness when we react negatively <strong>to</strong>wards them -- for example<br />
yelling and losing our temper at them; or being impatient with them.<br />
"I'm sorry I yelled. That wasn't nice. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. Can we do-over? Mummy will be more patient<br />
now."<br />
Children pick up a lot from us and are not discerning. This means as much as they learn our virtues, they also<br />
pick up our bad habits and mannerisms. We need <strong>to</strong> walk the talk and not just talk the talk.<br />
