Widehorizons Townsend<br />
Centre, Dorset<br />
Widehorizons Townsend Centre were delighted<br />
to add a new Playdale play area to their already<br />
impressive outdoor education and activities<br />
centre, and local school children were also excited<br />
to make full use of the new equipment.<br />
There are a number of Widehorizons Centres throughout<br />
the UK that provide outdoor education activities to<br />
children of all age groups, giving children the opportunity<br />
to visit the countryside and experience adventure learning.<br />
Pupils from South Rise Primary School were over<br />
the moon to attend the opening and have their<br />
picture taken with the new play equipment.<br />
The play area features a range of Adventure Trail<br />
equipment, designed to keep children active<br />
and aid different areas of physical development,<br />
including: Climbing Walls, Shuffle Bars, Rope<br />
Weaver, Rope Walk, and Chin Up Bars.<br />
Scott Johnson, Deputy Head of the Centre, was delighted<br />
with the play area and the service that we provided,<br />
saying: “From start to finish we have been pleased how<br />
our project has unfolded. The final Adventure Trail is a new<br />
addition to our Centre which has pride of place. Thank you<br />
to all at Playdale who have made this project a success.”<br />
Vigo Infants School,<br />
Hampshire<br />
Vigo Infants School were returning customers<br />
to Playdale, as their existing playground was<br />
designed and installed by the company which<br />
they had been very happy with for many years.<br />
This project was to upgrade and enhance<br />
the play area with equipment that would<br />
provide an extra level of challenge for their<br />
pupils. The play area included a fantastic<br />
Jukebox Selection unit, Tunnel Net, Wobble<br />
Board and Log Walk. This provided a perfect<br />
mixture to test children’s climbing, crawling,<br />
scrambling, balancing and teamwork skills.<br />
The play equipment was complemented with<br />
some bright, vibrant Wet Pour surfacing, adding<br />
that extra touch to bring the play area to life.<br />
Clare Hannah, Head Teacher, was very happy<br />
with the end result. The children were delighted<br />
with the play area and a number of pupils<br />
referred to it as: “It’s cool”, “It’s fun”, “Awesome”.<br />
