Another Peace Market Success!
Word of Peace held it’s 11th Peace Market rummage
sale on April 19 & 20. Despite the previous
weekend’s “Snowmageddon,” there was an
abundance of items donated and a steady
stream of customers throughout the 2-day sale.
What wasn’t sold was donated to the Disabled
American Veterans and the Salvation Army.
It takes a lot of volunteering hours to accomplish
this sale, and we had plenty of valuable help during
the week of the sale. Jill Smith, our new Event
Coordinator writes: “I would like to thank each and
every volunteer who came to pitch in to make this
year, my first year, a successful fundraiser. I literally
couldn’t have made it through the event without all
the wonderful people who joyfully served throughout
the week.”
Peace Market is a fantastic community event, not
only to raise money for the operations and ministry
of Word of Peace, but also by offering great
prices on good quality items for individuals and
families in our neighborhood.
A huge THANK YOU goes to all the people who
volunteered before, during and after the sale.
Peace Market was successful because of all your
hard work! Thank you also to those who donated
generously to the sale and to the shoppers who
came to buy.
Minneapolis Area Synod Assembly
highest legislative authority.
More than 600 participants attend the Synod Assembly each year, including representatives from each congregation
and all active rostered leaders. The gathering is filled with worship, inspiration, presentations, and
necessary business. One of the tasks of this year’s Synod Assembly is to elect a bishop. Please pray for the
Assembly and our congregation’s voting members: Marty and Lois Woolard, Pastor Rick Skare, Pastor Kristin
