Tuesday, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 7:30 a.m.–
5:30 p.m., Thursday, 7:30–5:00 p.m., and Friday,
8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. A time limit of 10 minutes per
user will be enforced.
Cork message boards will also be available for posting
hard-copy messages and meeting and event announcements.
Newsletter
The daily newsletter, The Cable Car Post, containing
important information about the meeting program
and events, is available in the registration area, Career
Center, Exhibit Hall, and various other locations. Articles
or news items may be dropped off at the Registration
Counter. The newsletter editorial office is located
in Boardroom B (Atrium Lobby Level)
Student Lounge
The Student Lounge, located in the Plaza Room
(Street Level), has been set aside for students to meet,
network, socialize, participate in special student activities,
and relax. Hours are Monday through Thursday,
8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00
noon. HFES thanks the following groups for their
sponsorship: Aerospace Systems Technical Group,
Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making Technical
Group, San Jose State University Student Chapter, and
Surface Transportation Technical Group.
Birds of a Feather Room
The Golden Gate Room (Bay Level) has been set
aside Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to
8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
for individuals with mutual interests to discuss pertinent
topics or conduct meetings. A sign-up sheet is
provided at the room for advance reservations. Meeting
times are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis,
although a few meetings have been pre-reserved.
Audiovisual Preview Room
Regency B (Street Level) has been reserved for presenters
who wish to preview their audiovisual materials.
Computers will be available for AV preview only. Preview
hours on Monday and Tuesday are 7:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m., on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.,
on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Friday
from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers Assignment Room
Student volunteers who have been assigned duties
should check in with Volunteer Coordinators John R.
Morris and Shanqing “S.Q.” Yin in Boardroom A
(Atrium Lobby Level).
Proceedings CD-ROM
All registered attendees have been provided with a
CD-ROM containing the proceedings. Workstations
are available in the Internet Café near the Registration
Counter for viewing the CD-ROM and printing out
individual papers. If supplies allow, additional CD-
ROMs may also be purchased at HFES Central.
EXHIBITS
Location and Hours
All attendees are encouraged to visit the exhibits,
located in Pacific Concourse D–K (Pacific Concourse
Level). Coffee breaks will be held in the Exhibit Hall
on Tuesday afternoon and on Wednesday and Thursday
morning and afternoon.
Exhibition hours are as follows:
Tuesday 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Wednesday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Prize Drawings
HFES will be giving away two 2011 membership
renewals and two registrations for the 55th Annual
Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. To enter a drawing
to win these prizes, fill out the entry slips found in
your portfolio bag and deposit them in the appropriate
box inside the main entrance of the Exhibit Hall. In
addition, some exhibitors will be offering prizes for the
drawing; entry slips for these prizes may be obtained
at each participating exhibitor’s booth.
All drawings will be held on Wednesday and Thursday
during the morning refreshment break (10:00–10:30
a.m.). Names of winners will be posted on a sign board
in the Exhibit Hall. You must be present to claim your
prize. Prizes are not transferable. If you have already
paid your 2011 dues and your name is drawn, you will
be renewed at no charge for 2012.
