The Century Sectional Tournament April 7 - 9, <strong>2006</strong><br />

A good time was had by all who attended the Century Sectional at the<br />
Saskatoon Bridge Club April 7-9 th .<br />
There were sixteen tables Friday night. The<br />
overall winners were Nola Buhr and James<br />
Romanow. Nigel Arding and Gord Anwieler<br />
won the B and C strats. Sectional free plays<br />
were awarded to each strat winner. Cathy<br />
Walsh won $78.00 in the 50-50 draw and<br />
nine lucky people won door prizes.<br />
Complimentary pencils, tictac, goodies and<br />
pizza were appreciated throughout the evening.<br />
Saturday afternoon involved twenty-two and one half tables. Winners were: A: Elaine<br />
Panchuk and Margaret Propp, B: Rand Burlingham and Gord Anwieler, C: Eric Callbeck<br />
and Gerry Fernandes The afternoon 50-50 take of $102.00 dollars went to Bea Duncap<br />
and nine more door prizes were presented.<br />

Saturday evening Charlie Merle, unit president from North Battleford gave a brief talk<br />
about the different levels of competition within the ACBL. He made a special welcome to<br />
Vesta Monk, formerly of Saskatchewan now from Toronto who was attending her first<br />
tournament with a high school friend from Langham.<br />
Sixty-six players competed Saturday evening. Winners of all<br />
three strats were Cheryl and Robin Jamieson of Maidstone, we<br />
thank them for saving the unit thirty-two dollars in free play<br />
prizes. Cheryl Jamieson was a double winner also taking<br />
home $56.00 in 50-50 money. Nine more lucky people took<br />
home various door prizes. Barbecued hamburgers were<br />
enjoyed after the game. Thanks to Terry Scott for his<br />
excellent flipping skills and Aileen Janke for lending us a<br />
warming oven so they were served hot to all who indulged.<br />
