The 3rd Bourgogne Tribal Art Show, taking place from 24 th – 27 th May 2018
in the wonderfully located Domaine Bruno Mory in Besanceuil will again bring

and renowned merchants for four days of enjoying Tribal, Classic Asian and
Contemporary Art in a most bucolic setting in Burgundy. Music, excellent food
and obviously the renowned regional wines will make this an art festival like
no other. At the Abbey de Cluny, a special exhibition aptly named “Bestiaire”,
curated by Aurélien Gaborit, Curator of African Art at the Musee Quay Branly in
Paris, will show masterworks of animal depictions in Tribal Art.
Our own contribution to this most cultivated art event will be a visually delightful
exhibition of a selected group of early Southeast Asian sculptures, all from
European and American collections with impeccable provenances. They will be
juxtaposed with stunning black-and-white, airy paintings by one of Thailand’s
new painting stars: Jiratchaya Pripwai.
We look forward to seeing you in Besanceuil.
CONVERSATION OF BREATH
JIRATCHAYA PRIPWAI
Born in 1983, Jiratchaya Pripwai graduated with a Master degree in
2011 at the renowned Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic
Art at Silpakorn University, Thailand’s most demanding training
ground for artists. Many of Thailand’s top artists started their
careers at Silpakorn.

and airy textile-like paintings on canvas has rapidly earned her a
devoted following. Most of Thailand’s renowned private museums
and collections own one or several of her ink-on-canvas pieces.
A 2015 exhibition in Paris was rapidly sold out. Her large-scale

not more than a handful are normally being produced per year.
Already considered to be one of the fastest rising stars in Thailand’s
Contemporary Art scene, she is bound to burst very soon onto the
international art scene.
