Here are four ways to embellish that empty space between your cabinets and ceiling. 1. I’m Addison Charbonneau, and I am the club reporter for the Byemoor 4H Beef club this year. The Byemoor 4H Beef Club has had a busy year so far. We started the year with weigh-in at Yates Farm, with 10 market steers and one heifer project. We also have four cleaver members this year. Some of the activities that we have done this year are playing cards with the seniors in Byemoor, selling Christmas trees at Byemoor Santa Days and skating for our club Christmas party. We held our 4H speeches on March 1, and the winners were: Ray Musgrove for juniors, Ryan Yates for intermediate, and Bailey Musgrove for Seniors. As a club, we went to the 4H judging at the Canadian Bull Congress in Camrose, where we judged rabbits, guinea pigs and cattle. Then we participated in a scavenger hunt that was very hard! ECA Review/Submitted Charolais bull sale results Submitted In the 37 years the Charolais Banner magazine has been compiling Charolais bull sale results. This spring was the best ever. From the fall of 2017 to the spring of 2018 there were 96 sales reporting, six more than in 2017 and the largest number of animals and sales ever. The gross was up nearly 1.35 million dollars, the highest ever. The sale average was also up from 2017 with over 3,400 bulls sold averaging $6,160. Helge By, publisher of the Charolais Banner magazine cites the increases to more breeders going to an auction method compared to private treaty off the yard, combined with the increased interest in Charolais bulls, as more commercial producers realize the need to crossbreed and receive the premiums paid for Charcross calves when selling. Complete results are available in the May issue of the Charolais Banner We also had a halter making and knot tying afternoon where we all made our own halters and Ryan showed us some new knots.
