What do you hope to accomplish with CMA in 2018?
When I first started marketing in the Microsoft Dynamics channel, I didn’t know anyone. The acronyms were
confusing. The products were so complicated. The channel itself was a foreign concept. I would have been so lost, but
Beth Wobbema and Amiee Keenan took me under their wing. I want to be that wing for anyone new to the channel!
What one key skill do you possess that makes you an excellent marketer?
Storytelling, of course! If you can tell a good story, people will listen.
Why do you think CMA is so important for other marketers?
Marketing in the channel is a skill, and what works everywhere else may not work here. I’m so happy the CMA can
be a place for marketers to learn the nuance of the channel—and that we can help each other every step of the way.
DAVID GERSTEN, VICE PRESIDENT, SALES & MARKETING AT BOND CONSULTING SERVICES
Why did you get into marketing?
Ironically, I did not choose to get into marketing. I have been in sales for the last 16 years and realized that marketing is
a core part of sales. With social media becoming so prominent in our culture, I began using it to help me sell and instantly
became a fan. At Bond Consulting Services, I was able to expand my career and oversee the sales and marketing team, giving
me the opportunity to develop my marketing skills. Marketing became a great passion of mine, and being “in marketing” is
something I will always want to be involved with. I strive every day to improve the voice and brand of my organization and
team, and I love what I do.
What do you hope to accomplish with CMA in 2018?
With CMA this inaugural year, I want to make a difference in other people’s lives. Creating a community inside
a community is exciting and rewarding. I hope to give more than to receive this year. Once this community thrives
at the level we want it to, the rewards will be endless. Having a place for similar but unique people to collaborate,
learn, connect, and expand themselves is exciting. Once I hear success stories from the Members, I will know I
accomplished what I wanted to.
What one key skill do you possess that makes you an excellent marketer?
I’m a people person, and I love to connect others. I am all about relationships and helping others become better.
I think using these strengths as I create content, vision, brand, and voice will help me be an excellent marketer.
Why do you think CMA is so important for other marketers?
I believe the CMA is incredibly important for other marketers because it is a safe place to be with people that
“speak your language”. A group like CMA where everyone has common direction yet bring uniqueness to the table
is the best type of community to be a part of. Sharing and learning from people who have similar challenges but in
their own worlds will make any marketer stronger.
ALEX WRIGHT, MARKETING DIRECTOR AT DOCUPHASE
Why did you get into marketing?
I actually had a history degree and knew I wouldn’t be able to do much with it. I went on to get my master’s and
fell in love with the marketing track; the rest is history.
What do you hope to accomplish with CMA in 2018?
I want to meet lots of people, help as many as I can, and leave a mark.
What one key skill do you possess that makes you an excellent marketer?
Some form of ADD: As a marketer, you must be agile while working on multiple projects and goals, especially
when you work for a smaller company.
Why do you think CMA is so important for other marketers?
Immediate access to hundreds of experts and people that are in the same boat as you. I can get my questions
answered really quickly in the forum.
JENNA KNOBLAUCH, DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & MEMBERSHIP AT DYNAMIC COMMUNITIES
Why did you get into marketing?
Marketing sparks a passion within me. I love the research behind a consumer pain point and solving that through
value, benefits, and messaging. Marketing is fun for me, which doesn’t make it feel like work.
What do you hope to accomplish with CMA in 2018?
My goal for the CMA is to become the community for marketing peers to share knowledge, exchange best
practices, and increase their network of contacts.
What one key skill do you possess that makes you an excellent marketer?
Empathy
Why do you think CMA is so important for other marketers?
Often, marketing knowledge is behind a gate and shared with the intent of lead generation. The CMA is not
interested in lead generation, so the knowledge exchanged is in a safe space with genuine marketers’ interests and
professional growth in mind.
