Hi I'm Morris the Lion and I like
adventures do you?
Do you think it's important to always
tell the truth?
Let me tell you a story about a
Crocodile who told a tall tale but found
his strengths in the end...

One warm, hot jungle day a Crocodile
and a Toucan were playing by the
banks of the jungle river....

They had built their
very own adventure
pirate ship from
logs, leaves and trees
and were just about ready to set sail.

They had just finished making
a flippy flappy pirate flag
from jungle leaves,
when Toucan said...

"Should I fly up and
put the flag on top
of the ship Croc?"

Croc didn't like the sound of that!
He'd worked so hard carrying all the logs and
he wanted to be the one to finish off
the ship himself!
"I'll Fly up and do it"
Said Croc, without thinking first.

"Crocodiles can't fly!"
exclaimed Toucan.
"Oh yes I can" argued Croc.
"Well, then prove it..."
replied Toucan.
Can crocodiles fly?
What made Croc say
he could?

"Ummm.... not yet!"
said Croc, " I'll need something to eat
first to give me some... um...
...flying energy"

So Croc and Toucan headed off into
the jungle in search of something to eat.

Before long, Croc and Toucan came
across a towering tree.
Growing at
the tippy top
were the juiciest,
ripest bananas the
friends had
ever seen!.

"Why don't
you
fly up
Croc
and fetch
some of those
juicy bananas for
us to share?"
Asked Toucan

"Ummm... not yet" Said Croc
""I think I'll need to
stretch and
warm up my...
um... flying muscles first"
The sight of
those juicy
bananas had made
Croc's tummy start to grumble and rumble...
he didn't really feel like running and jumping.

Do crocodiles really have flying muscles?
How do you think Croc is feeling?

When Suddenly, out of the jungle
darkness...
...A sleepy snake appeared

He didn't look very
happy and was hissing
an angry hiss...

"S Q uak!" Squealed Toucan
And he flew up into the
jungle treetops!
"Come on Croc!"
He shouted from up
above. "Fly up here
to safety"

Croc was hungry and
wanted a banana to
eat ...
.... and worn out from
all that running and
jumping....
...and he missed the cool waters of the jungle
lake and the fun and adventures they were
sure to have had playing pirates...

Croc started to shake and his teeth
chattered together...
He let out an almighty sob.
What's happened to Croc?
What do you think has made him cry?

"Hiss" Squealed the snake at the sight of the
ginormous crocodile shaking and making a din!
He quickly slithered away
back to his jungle den.

"You saved us!" cheered Toucan
"as he swooped
down
from the trees.
"Hooray for Croc!"
But, Croc didn't stop crying and shaking and
still the jungle shook with noise!

Why do you
think Croc is
still crying?
What made
Toucan
shout hooray?
