Open Farm Sunday - Hill Farm

11am - 4pm Hill Farm is a 450 acre mixed
family farm with predominantly sheep
and some arable. On open farm day you
can meet the animals and have a chance
to bottle feed the lambs. There will also be
farm tours and nature trails, tractor and
trailer rides, BBQ and bar, farm machinery
on display, and a shearing demonstration.
A family day out for all ages! This is a FREE
event.

10am - 4pm Hornton Grounds is delighted to
be participating in Open Farm Sunday again
in 2018. After the success of last year's event,
we look forward to welcoming you to the
farm. There will be tractor & trailer rides, a
chance to meet the animals, a hog roast &
refreshments all day, a farm shop, children's
activities, and a guided farm walk. This is a
FREE event.

10am - 4pm Talton Mill is a mixed
smallholding set in a beautiful part of rural
Warwickshire. There will be guided farm
walks every hour. The butchery will be
open with our own home-reared beef, pork
and chicken plus locally sourced lamb and
venison alongside chef Lisa's home cooked
pies, and pastries. There will be shearing
demonstrations from a local farmer, a river
walk will be open, and there will be static
tractors for the children to explore. Local
alpacas will also be making an appearance.

Family Days are eagerly awaited by parents,
grandparents and children alike! The theme
this year is 'The Great Outdoors', so bring
the whole family and enjoy a fun-packed
day with lots of exciting creative activities,
games and sports to keep everyone
entertained for hours. Scale mountains to
giddy heights, take a dip in our blue lagoon
and venture into our woodland forest.
Enjoy a range of outdoor pursuits, including
archery, cricket and tennis, or get creative
in our art and craft workshops – you’ll
be busy all day! You can also watch free
films in our cinema, or enjoy the magic of
The Carnival of the Animals in our theatre
(advance booking recommended). This

arable farm. Farm, woodland and pool

Times Vary Join us for some FREE family
fun in the Mead Gallery. All activities are
inspired by the John Piper exhibition which
is currently running in the Mead Gallery
from 1 May - 21 June. On 20 May explore
different textures by taking rubbings and
making them into your own piece of work.
On 27 May set your own scene by building a
cardboard model box. On 3 June work with
other families to create a giant collaborative
collage. On 10 June do some sketching,
and on 17 June using John Piper’s Entrance
to Fonthill as inspiration, explore how you
might use paint in a similar way to create
your own picture. These events are FREE,
just drop in!

about these fascinating and beautiful night
fliers with the help of our expert Rangers
and the Warwickshire Moths Facebook
Group. A presentation on these beautiful
insects will be followed by light trapping
live in the park. If you would like to see
the moths by the light of day, our moth
breakfast the next morning (1 July) could be
for you! Price: £5 per person. Please bring
a torch.

checking the light traps that were set the
previous night. A chance to have a close-up
look at the moths that have been flying
around while you’ve been asleep, whilst
tucking into a full English breakfast from The
Courtyard Café. This year we will be trapping
in new areas in the hope of catching plenty
of bright Summer species. Price: £9.50 per
person (includes breakfast), or £5.50 for
those who attended the previous evening.
