Glasgow couple approached Greg at The<br />
Wee Kitchen Shop clutching images cut<br />
from interiors magazines, it acted as a<br />
spring board towards their dream kitchen.<br />
‘I love the contrast of the painted finish of<br />
the frame Shaker doors against the white<br />
worktops, walls and mantel,’ says Greg.<br />
‘The couple chose Farrow & Ball’s Hague<br />
Blue and it creates real drama in this light<br />
airy space. The cool tones used elsewhere<br />
are then warmed up with the light oak floor<br />
and antique brass finished handles.’<br />
Working in the older properties of the West<br />
End can cause some practical design issues<br />
– but these are just the challenges Greg<br />
loves to resolve creatively.<br />
Accented open space above the sink was<br />
created by hanging antique finished cast iron<br />
shelf brackets supporting danish oiled rustic<br />
oak planks. Whilst a custom-made mantel<br />
surrounding the range cooker incorporates<br />
storage and cornicing to harmonise with<br />
the existing original features. Beauty and<br />
practicality: isn’t that the design mantra? It’s<br />
Greg’s, that’s for sure.<br />
