to include all 5,855 of his known letters. It presents<br />
versions of the letter texts compiled from a<br />
scholarly-critical analysis of the sources, discusses<br />
their historical context and comments on all details<br />
requiring explanation.<br />
The CD-ROM forms a valuable complement to the<br />
printed volumes: it offers the printed edition in<br />
the form of pdf files, thereby making the roughly<br />
9,500 pages of the printed edition digitally accessible<br />
and enabling the letters and the corresponding<br />
commentary to be read in parallel.<br />
