Talk 1: SUCCESS
“And he said to the man, “You listened to your
wife and ate the fruit which I told you not to eat.
Because of what you have done, the ground will be
under a curse. You will have to work hard all your
life to make it produce enough food for you. It will
produce weeds and thorns, and you will have to eat
wild plants.”
–Genesis 3:17-18 GNT
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ
Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in
advance for us to do.”
–Ephesians 2:10 NIV
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have
chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the
tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the
Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding,
with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to
make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and
bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and
to engage in all kinds of crafts.”
–Exodus 31:1-5 NIV
“Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord has
chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri and grandson of
Hur from the tribe of Judah. God has filled him
with his power and given him skill, ability, and
understanding for every kind of artistic work, for
planning skillful designs and working them in gold,
silver, and bronze; for cutting jewels to be set; for
carving wood; and for every other kind of artistic
work. The Lord has given to him and to Oholiab son
of Ahisamach, from the tribe of Dan, the ability to
teach their crafts to others. He has given them skill
in all kinds of work done by engravers, designers,
and weavers of fine linen; blue, purple, and red
wool; and other cloth. They are able to do all kinds
of work and are skillful designers. Bezalel, Oholiab,
and all the other workers to whom the Lord has
given skill and understanding, who know how
to make everything needed to build the sacred
Tent, are to make everything just as the Lord has
commanded.”
–Exodus 35:30-35,
36:1 GNT
“Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will
serve before kings…”
–Proverbs 22:29 NIV
“Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and
possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to
accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a
gift of God.”
–Ecclesiastes 5:19 NIV
Personal Reflection and
Group Discussion Guide:
Do you see a connection between
your work and your worship? Why
or why not? What can you do to
strengthen the connection?
06.03.18 | SUNDAY
MAKE YOUR WORK
YOUR WORSHIP
Look around you.
Many have made their career
their god. On the altar of this fake
deity, they sacrifice everything— their
marriage, their health, their integrity,
even their identity. They have become
their jobs. For them, to be a workaholic
is a status symbol. People wear it like a
badge of honor.
On the other spectrum are
those who hate their jobs, like poison. They drag their feet to work every single day.
Is there another path? A happier one? The answer is yes.
Welcome to our powerful brand-new series, WorkaHolyc. In this entire series,
we’ll also investigate the human work involved in building God’s Temple— from Moses’s
Tabernacle in Sinai, to the First Temple of Solomon, to the Second Temple of Ezra. Why?
Because all human work should build God’s Kingdom on earth.
I know that by the end of this powerful series, you’ll bless your job. You’ll
find your voice. You’ll harness your gift. You’ll anoint your career. You’ll prosper your
business. You’ll elevate your results. You’ll sanctify your Mondays to Fridays. And you’ll
be able to say, “My work is my worship.”
May your dreams come true,
BO SANCHEZ
BRING GOD
TO WORK
Steph Curry is arguably one of
the most influential players in
the NBA today. Young people
just adore him. In any basketball
court, there’s always one kid
who is trying to shoot, trying to
dribble, trying to pass like Steph.
But that’s not his most notable
influence.
Whenever Steph goes to work and hits a three-point shot, he would always slap
his chest and then point his fingers upwards.
In one of his many interviews, he said that he does that to acknowledge that his
talent is a gift from the Lord above. Millions of people see this gesture on a regular basis.
Bring God to work – and not just one time like you’re bringing Him for show and
tell. But bring Him every day. Don’t leave Him behind in church the moment you step out
of the door. Bring Him around like a friend who comes and goes with you.
Make Him part of your Mondays to Fridays and let people see that your spiritual
life is not separate from your secular life. Let the world see that your spiritual life is what
gives shape to your secular life.
Welcome to our new series, WorkaHolyc! Let’s bring holiness back into our work.
In Him,
AUDEE VILLARAZA

High school student Ferdinand Isla III, 15, shares how
happy he was finding The Feast but happier now that he’s
one of its ministry servants.
I grew up in an old heritage town in Batangas,
a few blocks away from where Asia’s biggest Catholic
Church stands – the Basilica de San Martin de Tours,
simply known as Taal Basilica – yet, I didn’t attend Mass
regularly. At the age of thirteen, I moved to Manila
YOUTH SPEAKS
with my aunt to continue my studies in
a better school. In the city, we live in a
condominium that’s right across a local
parish, but still, I wasn’t able to lend an
hour of my Sundays for Him.
In October 2016,
my aunt invited me to
join her at The Feast, and
I was completely amazed
by it. I loved the engaging
venue, the enthralling
music and worship session,
the inspiring talks and
the kindness of everyone
inside the hall. Since then, I
became a regular attendee
and a certified Feaster,
always trying my best to
make it to the PICC Plenary
Hall every Sunday.
When I was younger, I didn’t like going to
church, mostly because my family is not the churchgoer
type. I didn’t like going alone. At The Feast, even when I
attend by myself, I never feel alone with all the taps on
the shoulder, warm greetings and hugs by those around
me. Listening to the homilies and the talks is helping me
become kinder and more patient; to be always thankful
and positive in life.
Last month, when I
saw the Ministry Fair at the
lobby, I thought I’d sign up. But,
I had second thoughts; worried
that I might be too young but
I AM
HOME
I went for it, anyway. Two
Sundays ago, I joined the
writing workshop of the
Media Ministry as one of its
youngest and newest writers.
I think God brought me to the ministry
service for a reason – to slowly reveal my mission.
I was already content as a regular attendee but it
seems the Lord has better things for me ahead.
I’m glad to be part of a ministry where my
heart has found its home.
COFFEE TALK
WITH BRO. BO
RECENT EVENT
Last May 27, Sunday, FBA builders led by Bro. Bo
Sanchez met with The Feast Light of the Mega
Manila District at the PICC Banquet Hall.
The Feast Light, formerly called a Feast
Video, is a gathering of about 5 to 10 people
watching a recorded talk of The Feast in their
homes, schools, offices or wherever convenient
for the intended participants. Led by an emissary,
attendees after enjoying the video are encouraged
to share their learnings and experiences and pray
for each other.
Coffee Talk is a regular meeting for emissaries
to get a chance to share their experiences with the group
and inspire each other to continue their mission. It is not
just an opportunity to bond with their fellows but also an
occasion to ask questions from the leaders including Bro.
Bo himself.
One of the emissaries present, Gigi Alvarez of
the Feast A1 or Audience of One, shared onstage, “Before
starting one myself, I had many excuses. I was inspired
by a man who didn’t seem eloquent enough to speak but
was eager and willing to learn to start his own Feast Light.
Kung kaya niya, kaya ko din.”
Taking the floor, Bro. Bo expressed his heartfelt
thanks to those present for helping The Feast in its mission
to reach out to those who have yet to build a relationship
with God.
▲ Top, clockwise: Bro. Bo goes table hopping to meet the Feast Light emissaries;
Gigi Alvarez of Feast A1 tells the group, “Kung kaya nya, kaya ko din.”; Each emissary
is given time to share her experience as others listen.
Bro. Alvin Barcelona, FBA district head, also
affirmed the attendees by saying that it is in small
personal community relationships where “real
discipleship happens.”
Willing to start a Feast Light in your community? Become
an emissary. Visit www. thefeastvideo.com or find their
booth at the lobby today.

SCENES FROM LAST SUNDAY
▼ Bro. Mon Reyes speaking at Youth High says,
“Jesus is both the way and the destination.
When your plan doesn’t go as planned, be
open to God at work in your life. Don’t just
put your faith in the plan. Put your faith in
the Planner.
of the FBA Liturgical Ministry receive the priest’s blessings
during their Commissioning Rite.
SERIES: SUPERPOWER
TALK 3: FRUIT
God gives us both gifts and fruit. Gifts refer to one’s capacity, fruit
refers to one’s character.
▶ Guest speaker Bro. Mike Viñas, Feast Bellevue
(Alabang) builder, says, “The first goal of the Holy
Spirit is to draw you close to Jesus because
through your relationship with the Lord, you’re
becoming like Him.”
▼ RECAP
Gospel Reading According to Matthew 28:16-20
THE FEAST OF THE HOLY TRINITY
“God is love, faithful
and truly near.”
–Fr. Michael Laguardia
In understanding the mystery of the Holy Trinity,
approach it not from an intellectual perspective. Use
your heart to better grasp and embrace its meaning
that God is love, He is faithful and is truly with us just as
Jesus promised: “…And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age.” –Matthew 28:20
“Little things done with
great love have eternal
consequences.”
–Fr. Bob McConaghy
The day we were baptized, we became members of God’s
family. As we are called to love one another, remember that it
is not the big events that impact us the most but the little stuff
performed devotedly and regularly.
Capacity is a set of God-given skills and talents. Character
multiplies our capacity. No matter how great a person’s capacity
or capability, if his character is poor, his efforts will be wasted
and his impact on the lives of others will be short-lived and
insignificant.
To illustrate, here are three personas with respective
scores for their capacity, character and impact on others:
Sablay. Someone intelligent, charismatic, brilliant and
eloquent. However, success has gotten into his head. While
Sablay may initially be a crowd drawer, because of his
arrogance and pride, he goes through broken relationships
and therefore, has a short-lived positive impact on others.
Capacity: 9 Character: 2
Impact on People’s Lives: 9 x 2 = 18
Sakto. Someone logical and sensible but not as gifted and
charismatic as Sablay. But Sakto’s character shines because
of his sincerity and selflessness in dealing with others. His
authenticity leads to a long-term impact on people’s lives.
Capacity: 5 Character: 9
Impact on People’s Lives: 9 x 2 = 45
Sayang. Someone gifted and really amazing in terms of
talent; better than Sakto but is worse than Sablay as he
cheats, lies and steps on people.
Capacity: 10 Character: 0
Impact on People’s Lives: 10 x 0 = 0
Which goes to show, no matter how great our talents are, if our
character is poor, our talents don’t amount to anything. Therefore,
pursue the fruit more than gifts.
To receive the fruit of the Holy Spirit:
Have the right tree- the Holy Spirit. You cannot be loving,
joyful and patient on our own. You need to allow the Holy Spirit to
work in your life by being responsive and obedient to the will of
God.
Have the right time. For a tree to bear fruit, it takes time. Change
and progress take time to happen in our lives. Be patient.
We cannot change without God’s help. The good news is that He
is always with us and within us willing to work with us to achieve
the change we need in our lives.
