(Max) How do you feel about the opportunity to produce garments that will be shown at LFMW?
Max - “For me, the fashion industry has become fixed in a specific set of ideals that push the commercial
aspect of clothing far more than the expressive potential it has as an art form. For so long the rich old
corporate office executives have dictated the direction that fashion follows, and I think the dynamic of my
work with Ava and nine8 directly opposes this. This is a group of real London kids with real respect for the
times that we live in, from such a varied range of backgrounds. The opportunity to have this platform with
not a single business responsibility weighing down on us means we have no one to answer to, and no
desire to hold back in any way.”
(Max) You both look like you are enjoying the working progress together, would you agree?
Max - “The work that me and Ava do is special in a way because it’s only out of mutual respect for each
other’s creative output that we even met in the first place. Like Ava said, it’s a DIY no-fucks-given full
blown assault against the world we live in, stopping for nothing and no one. I’m so bored of age being a
deciding factor in how relevant my ideas are, which is something that Ava understands.”
