Police Reports Man allegedly found asleep at wheel at stoplight, police later find loaded handgun A Joliet man was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by felon May 27 after police reportedly found a loaded handgun in his vehicle. Dominque J. Woodard, 27, of 308 Briggs St. in Joliet, reportedly was found asleep at the wheel by police at a stoplight near Route 30 and Gougar Road. His foot was on the brake while he was asleep, keeping his car stationary, according to Deputy Chief Lou Alessandrini. Woodard passed a sobriety test, but he was driving without a valid license, which led his vehicle to be towed, Alessandrini added. Police reportedly was able to find a loaded semiautomatic handgun in the vehicle’s glove compartment at the tow lot. Alessandrini said Woodard had prior weapons offenses, so he couldn’t possess the handgun.
