Abou d’Abi 

The first Abou d’Abi Bazar multi-brand store 

was opened among the fabric seconds shops 

and wholesalers of the Marais. Selling in 

vogue brands such as Vanessa Bruno, Isabel 

Marant, Sandro and Iro, the retailer proved a 

big hit, with another store eventually opening 

not far from here. The new Abou d’Abi Bazar 

was set up in a former art gallery and is again 

enjoying great success. With its four Parisian 

shops, the concept store offers a selection 

that’s always highly individual, and its buyers 

are constantly tracking down new exclusive labels. It’s not by chance that this brand 

bazar has established itself as an essential address for Parisian fashionistas!

LUNCH ADDRESS 

Mini Palais 

This is the eatery where the beautiful people hang out! Enjoy watching the gourmet 

and refined flypast in the enormous restaurant of the Grand Palais that has attracted 

the Paris smart set since it first opened. Superstar architects. The maestros of 

design were commandeered to bring out the best of this XXL space! The incredible and 

successful interior design by Gilles & Boissier is in keeping with their reputation. Let’s 

eat with Eric Fréchon! The three star chef from the Hôtel Bristol has devised a divine 

brasserie menu for the setting. In gastronomic terms, the Mini Palais is to the Bristol

what ready-to-wear clothing is to haute couture. 

On the menu? Clafoutis with Corrèze ceps, lobster club 

sandwich, duck breast and foie gras burgers with truffle jus, 

sweetbreads with aged Comté cheese, fresh cod, and coriander 

broth. For desert, a giant rum baba or a cream and 

cheese fontainebleau. 

We looove: The idea of a real home-from-home with its very 

own catering service. As well as a simple lunch or dinner, 

you can drop by for a quick tea-time snack, have a late lunch 

at 3pm, spend an evening on the big sofas while enjoying 

happy-hour nibbles or come for a post-theatre supper served

Located in the 16 th arrondissement, Les folies d’Elodie 

was set up by two sisters, Cathy and Nanou, and offers an

corsets and baby doll nighties are adorned with silk and 

lace for the pleasure of die-hard romantics. Famous for their

A real institution right on the Place des Vosges with its own terrace... This chic and 

ultra-gourmet address gets the French tearoom experience just right - suitably Gallic

You can easily picture yourself in a scene from one of 

Sofia Coppola’s movies here. It’s glamourissimo and a far 

cry from the other luxury hotels in this part of Paris. This 

particular Hyatt cultivates a contemporary appeal and its 

”anti-Chesterfield armchair” philosophy is deeply embedded 

in the Parisian mind of what a hotel bar should be. 

To kick off a dream evening, why not settle down near 

the ultra-modern fireplace, unless you prefer the gracious 

square courtyard for inveterate smokers (and a hotspot for 

incognito stars), while sipping a stupendous cocktail that 

only a few luxury hotels get right.

ARTY ADDRESS 

Yves Saint Laurent : 

«La Révolution de la mode» 

In the middle of the 1960s, while the great fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent 

pursued his artistic career in haute couture, he was also tapping into the emergence of 

a new world. It was at this point that he decided to launch what would become known as 

”ready-to-wear”: more affordable collections, intended not for ”blasé multimillionaires”, 

but for bold and attractive working women. The opening of his store on 26 September 

1966 at 21, rue de Tournon would be the dazzling manifesto for this new movement. No 

matter that the street saw little passing traffic, from the very next day society’s elite were 

already clamouring at the doors. 

”The Fashion Revolution” exhibition takes you into the world of this luxury boutique 

designed by the talented Isabelle Hebey. Discover the Djinn purple bench that our 

grandmothers sat on, the lamps by the American-Japanese artist Isamu Noguchi, the 

red panelling, and the very first ready-to-wear collections by the great man who is still 

filling certain family trunks. An exhibition so realistic that you want to push aside the 

hangers for a better view, and which is bound to move you!

Slotted between a garden and a courtyard, 

in a former furniture fabrics warehouse in the 

Haute Marais district, the Merci concept store is 

redefining what a 21st century shop should be: 

relevant and generous! 

As soon as you walk in, a kind of alchemy takes 

place between the cleverly worked space of the 

building’s industrial past and the excellence of the 

fashion and decorative products on show. The 

”arty” feel reinforces the wide-ranging product 

offer exquisitely arranged over 1500m2 with a mix 

that includes contemporary design and antique objects, vintage and designer clothing, 

hardware, haberdashery, flowers, a bookshop, café and restaurant. 

Visionary and committed, the capital’s very first charity shop donates a proportion 

of its profits to an assistance fund for children’s charities. A commendable initiative 

that’s worth travelling to see and which already has the backing of fashion designers, 

intellectuals and celebrities. The cherry on the cake is the attractive restaurant on the 

lower ground floor with a garden view. On the menu are ultra-fresh and healthy dishes: 

fennel-courgette carpaccio with pink peppercorns, quinoa with lemongrass, quiche of 

the day and some fantastic desserts (walnut and hazelnut cake, red fruit crumble).

Odetta 

Or the well-kept secret of an intimate fashion boutique that has carved its niche in the 

court of the great. 

The idea? One of the best vintage boutiques in Paris for finding carefully selected 

second-hand clothes, shoes and bags but also real collector pieces. 

Such as? Superb brand new pumps by Louis Vuitton, Pierre Hardy or Louboutin 

for €220, a Louis Vuitton by Marc Jacobs chiffon and sequin dress from the late

Passage 53 

It’s THE food buzz of the moment! This highly 

unusual bistro, nestled in an old Parisian covered 

passage, has just won its second Michelin star. 

The promise? A venue that is both unpretentious 

and at the same time beautifully designed, 

oozing charm with its Art Deco tiling and 

impeccable, relaxed service. Its greatest 

asset? A highly gastronomic and very Parisian 

eatery where you can laugh out loud or show up in jeans to enjoy a delightful meal 

without airs and graces. Super light! Even the most diet-conscious will love it here. 

Like a gourmet fashion show, designer plates follow one after the other like pieces in a 

collection: graphically beautiful, colourful, glowingly fresh, all in a light and ultra-refined 

style. Top chef... The Japanese chef Sako works only with the very best in meats (Hugo 

Desnoyers, the rock-star of butchers) and applies true genius to vegetables. The result? 

A little dish that resembles a Japanese garden. 

On the table... Like a gourmet gift, the menu is a surprise! In other words, each dish is a 

little gift waiting to be discovered. And each haute couture plate reveals a beautifully presented 

model. The must-tries. Under a finely-cut piece of Japanese daikon, a fresh and 

sensual scallop. An ode to the Jerusalem artichoke: mashed with a hint of sweetness and 

topped with an artichoke and truffle biscuit. Sublime! Oysters under a fluffy apple 

mousse and haddock foam with beluga caviar. 

And the desserts... They arrive all at once, like a deluxe gourmet café. On the 

programme? A chocolate tart with salted butter caramel biscuit, a mini tarte tatin, a little 

pot of milk chocolate, passion fruit and puffed rice, for that luxury crunch. We also like! 

Its top-class wines by the glass such as Gevrey Chambertin (€18 per glass). 

The prices? €55 for a 5-course lunch menu. €95 for the lunch and evening tasting 

menus (ten courses and five desserts)

In her 17 th arrondissement workshop, Louise produces made-to-measure corsets

Horror picture tea 

The latest hip address? An unusual little tearoom that’s totally rock‘n’roll and 

off-the-wall, where grannies and their trashy teens are bound to have a good time 

around a cup of Kusmi tea and a brightly-coloured, divine pop pastry. 

The ELEGANGZ Collective and the young, talented and tattoo-covered pastry chef, 

Guillaume Sanchez (formerly of Delmontel, Ladurée), are now squatting this bistro in 

the 1st arrondissement, establishing a real Parisian institution. 

Gourmet treats... On the counter, super-modern pastries and cakes are presented 

under a glass bell begging you to try them. Which you ab-so-lu-tely must!

Rock-attitude... From Thursday to Saturday, bohemian happy hour with arty 

happenings, and live music from up-and-coming young talent. 

What else? A tattoo parlour in the basement with genuine tattoo artists producing

Rosa bonheur 

What a beautiful day! Everyone’s off to the Rosa Bonheur 

to see the new decor in the bar! This ultra-trendy open-air café 

located in the Buttes Chaumont district of Paris is a hugely 

popular place for spending an evening under the stars, right in 

the middle of this huge park. 

Result? The perfect place! No-one will be refused entry (no 

doorman) and there’s always room, even for a crowd of 30. 

We love... the evening picnic nibbles that are so much more than 

just grub, thrilling the clientele in the form of great charcuterie 

and delicious dishes at mini prices. An easy 

solution for getting all your friends together, even if they’re 

totally broke! Serrano ham, chorizo, tabouleh, sea 

urchin taramasalata, salt cod and mashed potatoes, 

organic fruit cake to name but a few. 

We also like... drinking and dancing till midnight. Shot of

The idea? Dinner at Le Derrière is of course great food, but it’s also and especially the

kitchen, living room and so on. The must-have experience when you’re out with a group

«Madame Grès» 

Fashion fans should make a beeline for the Musée Bourdelle. The gorgeous 

collection of the great artist Madame Grès, taken from her real name Germaine Kebs, 

is on display for your pleasure. Known for her famous draping techniques, achieved 

using as little stitching as possible, Grès was also famous for the colours that she mixed 

and matched to perfection. While her work is known for its sculptural aesthetic, Grès
