You might call our magazine the “High 5” Magazine. That’s because we continue to congratulate and
publicize those individuals and groups that are part of the reason we love to call Brandon our hometown.
In this issue we help David Frederick, owner of Frederick’s, celebrate 25 years of service. That’s a
milestone for any business!
Then there are two choice servants in education that are officially retiring from our Brandon schools–
Kelli Adcock ad Lisa Hudson. Kelli was the kind principal that selected the perfect teacher for CandyLee
when we moved to Brandon. It was CandyLee’s first grade year, and the sadness of leaving her Delta
home didn’t need to be compounded by a less than perfect school beginning. Kelli used her educational
skills, plus compassion, to place CandyLee with Mrs. Jacobson, another teacher we’ll never forget.
Lisa Hudson and her family have been dear friends for years. All three of my children, plus countless
others, would surely have starved without Lisa’s loaning them lunch money. Lisa also used her gifted
“educational sensors” to keep in touch and aware of the different needs
our children experienced while they were in school. Her impact, along
with Kelli’s, has touched a remarkable number of lives. I’m extremely
grateful our lives have been among that blessed number.
May their lives continue to be role models for future-aspiring
teachers and administrators. And happy summer to all….especially
those are still in the 9 to 5 work mode!
