relationship between risk factors (e.g., pubertal timing, coping style, stressful life events) and the<br />

emergence of depressive symptoms during adolescence; and 3) examine the outcomes of<br />

adolescent depression for Black and White women. Outcome measures include obesity and<br />

health services utilization, psychosocial adjustment, and psychiatric comorbidity, in young<br />
