This isn’t a hobby, it’s in my blood. I’ve been infatuated with
photography, and computers for as long as I can remember. From
the first time I held my dad's Minolta in the late eighties, I was
hooked. In high school, I was the yearbook photographer. In my
junior year of high school I worked as a photographers assistant at
Olan Mills where I worked for a few months before accepting a
position at Expressly Portraits where I photographed with a
Mamyia RB67, processed negatives and developed enlargements,
I was promoted several times, eventually becoming Studio
Manager. Additionally, I started assisting as a second shooter after
training with Jerry Clay, an award winning wedding photographer
in Northeast Ohio in the late 1990’s and had the privilege of
photographing commercials events for the Cleveland State
Convocation Center. My photography has been published, most
notably for an image of the “Artist”.
Fast forward well over a decade.
I have always been the photographer in the family. I always had a
camera in hand, always. Photography has always been the constant
in my life. Here I am today, still passionate about people and my
craft. It’s been a gift to capture a newborn’s portraits and take his
senior portraits years later.
When I am not behind the camera you will find me out and about
in CLE with my husband and two children.

What you’re wearing under your dream dress truly does matter.

Not meant for a gentlemen's pockets on this day!
Be sure to leave in bus, limo, somewhere… just not in the pockets.
POSTURE
Stand up straight. This is often corrected when caught by the photographer while formal images are being taken
however, during the ceremony it is equally important.
BOOK A MAKE UP ARTIST
You want to look your best on your wedding day and a professional make up artist will help you do that.
I didn’t have one for our wedding and it’s one of the things I wish I’d prioritized.
If you’ve never had your make up done by a pro, you’ll be shocked at what a difference they can make!
TRIAL RUN
Hair and makeup, have it done and see how it looks in pictures!
If it’s not the look you are trying to achieve, adjust accordingly.
SKIN MATTERS
Don’t go mad on the spray tan (the Oompa Loompa look is never attractive) and don’t try any new remedies that
could likely cause a reaction or break out in the run up. Similarly, if you’re having a pre-wedding pamper session like
a facial, do it at least a week before the big day. Post-facial spots are never fun.
JUST IN CASE
Make sure you have powder and lipstick in your bag (or give it to a bridesmaid) for little touch ups throughout the
day too. Airbrushing can only do so much (and your photographer will not be happy if you ask them to Photoshop
out your shiny forehead or tan lines in every photograph, in fact they’ll likely slap an extra fee on top for the time
that it will take).
IT’S YOUR WEDDING
Accept that you cannot possibly make everyone happy. Work together despite any differences, planning is
stressful. Which leads me to my next point… it’s YOUR wedding. Unless you have hired a stylist and coordinator
from a bridal magazine, stop comparing your day with what you see in a magazine. Sure, use as inspiration
however, remember that a publisher and designer’s budget likely far exceeds that of your own.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE
ASK for help!
Yes, it’s YOUR wedding day. Yes, you want it to be perfect. Yes, there’s much to be done.
Brides, If you don’t ask for help from your party… there’s a good chance you’ll turn into a bridezilla.
Seriously… Who likes those? Don’t be THAT friend, daughter, or fiancé.
