Jodi Adelman, whose
property the building was
originally built on, also
spoke at the meeting to encourage
the saving of the
building, which is more
than 100 years old.
“I would love to see it restored,
Adelman said a number
of suggestions have been
thrown out as to how the
building could be used for
families in the community,
including the possibility
of using it as a family art
center. She also suggested
that if a subcommittee is
formed, it should reach
out to Homer Glen Mayor
George Yukich and the Village
Board for support.
Board of Education member
Karen DeFillipis said
she believes the building
should be saved, but noted
that “a lot of work needs to
be done.”
“I think it would be a
said. “It’s an exciting project,
and I think we should
move forward with it.”
