“i want to live” . . . david lang
“I want to live” is from an evening-length piece called “SHELTER” that looks at different ways we think of
shelter in our lives —a place, a need, a feeling, something we may have, something we may lack. It occurred
to me that the sentence “I want to live where you live” could take on many of those meanings.
“If this world would stop” from FACES . . . Lee Kesselman
Tonight, there are three snapshots of interior life from my FACES—all explore the gap between the faces
people show and the ones they keep to themselves. “If this world could stop” is the voice of the overlooked
one, the the one who just wants to fit in and be noticed.
“Amor “. . . William Bolcom
A woman steps out on the town . . . and is noticed.
“yes I said yes I will Yes” . . . Amy Beth Kirsten
The text is about self-abandon and the end of all resistance.
