Leemputte, 22, of Glencoe, was arrested for theft following an investigation of an incident on May 21. Between May 18-21, police discovered Leemputte entered a storage garage and damaged a tractor and a boat at Lloyd Beach, 799 Sheridan Road, Winnetka. He then made entry to the beach house and removed two laptops. Repair costs were $1,050 and the amount of loss was $1,000. His court date is Aug. 16. Leemputte was recently arrested in Glencoe after stealing a golf cart at 3:32 a.m. June 21 and damaging the courses at Lake Shore Country Club, 1255 Sheridan Road, Glencoe. The golf course damages are estimated to cost $25,000- 30,000. He was charged on two felonies, including criminal damage to property (worth more than $500) and criminal trespass to property in Glencoe. In other police news: Winnetka July 7 • Between 2:35-5:30 p.m., an unknown offender sent a victim harassing text messages. The case is under investigation. July 6 • Jonathan Mondragon, 25, of Chicago, was arrested on an in-state traffic warrant out of DuPage County at 9:14 a.m. in the 500 block of Hibbard Road. His court date is Aug. 7. • A victim’s Amazon account was fraudulently used to make an unauthorized purchase. The transaction was worth $535. July 2 • Several large planters, worth $400, were stolen between June 28-July 2 from a business in the 900 block of Willow Road. • An unknown offender damaged flower pots and light fixtures and used red spray paint to deface the windows and siding on the house and garage overnight between July 1-2 in the 900 block of Pine Street. Repair costs are $850. • Peter L. Moran, 55, of the 100 block of Green Bay Road, Winnetka, was arrested for possession of cannabis (more than 30 grams) at 11:43 a.m. in the 300 block of Green Bay Road. The arrest was made after a traffic stop when Moran was observed failing to use his signal. His court date is Aug. 1. • A vehicle’s front license plate, worth $101, was stolen between noon-2:52 p.m. in the 400 block of Orchard Lane. June 29 • Between noon June 28-5 p.m. June 29, an unknown offender removed the rear license plate from the victim’s vehicle parked in the 100 block of Evergreen Lane. Amount of loss is $101. June 22 • A victim’s information was fraudulently used to open a ComEd account between May 1-June 22. The amount of loss is $586. June 5 • A victim’s personal information was fraudulently used to file for unemployment insurance between May 27-June 5. There is no reported loss. Northfield July 8 • Roman Navarro, 47, of Chicago, was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license and without a rear bumper at 4:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of Willow Road. His pending court date is July 30. July 7 • Edgar R. Perez, 45, of Chicago, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and disobeying stop sign at 6:40 p.m. at the Willow Road exit on Interstate 94. His pending court date is July 30. • Police assisted a taxi driver with an intoxicated passenger at 3:11 a.m. in the 1700 block of Northfield Square. The passenger paid the fare and went into his residence without an incident. July 6 • David Zamora, 24, of Chicago, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration at 7:46 a.m. at the intersection of Wagnar and Willow roads. His pending court date is July 23. July 5 • Berton N. Ring, 60, of Glencoe, was arrested for speeding (35 mph or more over the limit) and improper lane usage at 8:54 p.m. at the intersection of West Frontage and Tower roads. Ring has a Aug. 10 pending court date. • Thashawn S. Robinson, 19, of Zion, was arrested for driving on a suspended driver’s license and driving without lights when required at 8:57 p.m. in the 1800 block of Willow Road. Robinson has a July 30 pending court date. • A resident reported a bat was discovered inside their home and had possibly bitten their dog at 6:48 a.m. in the 3100 block of Illinois Road. Officers caught the bat and turned it over to the Cook County Department of Animal and Rabies Control for testing. • A UPS driver was bit by a dog at 4:59 p.m. in the 2300 block of Clover Lane. The dog owner was issued a $100 citation. July 4 • Daniel T. Maric, 39, of Skokie, was arrested for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and unsafe equipment while driving at 7:41 p.m. at the intersection of Willow and Wagner roads. His pending court date is July 30. July 3 • Alexander Sanchez, 23, of Des Plaines, was arrested for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding while driving at 6:10 p.m. in the 800 block of West Frontage Road.
