Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor 

married businessman Anand 

Ahuja in a traditional Sikh 

wedding in Mumbai. The wedding 

ceremony, which took place at 

Sonam’s aunt’s house at Bandstand 

in the city, was attended only by 

family and some close friends. 

True to her image of a fashionista, 

Sonam looked radiant in a red and 

golden Anuradha Vakil lehenga choli. 

Anand opted for beige bandhgala by 

Raghavendra Rathore. The wedding 

ceremony began around 12:30 pm 

and ended at around 1:20 pm. 

Father Anil Kapoor, mother Sunita 

Kapoor, brother Harashvardhan, 

Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Boney 

Kapoor along with daughters Janhvi 

and Khushi, Mohit Marwah among 

other family members attended the 

ceremony. Bollywood actor Amitabh 

Bachchan arrived with son Abhishek 

and daughter Shweta. Other industry 

celebrities who attended the wedding 

were Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan 

with wife Kareena Kapoor and son 

Taimur, Karisma Kapoor, Rani 

Mukerji, Jacqueline Fernandez,

Sonam Kapoor’s fans were definitely

wedding. The actor’s big day was also 

the busiest time of the year for the 

country’s paparazzi as they gathered 

outside the wedding venue in huge 

numbers to take the best pictures. 

They clicked pictures of the 

couple, their families and the 

celebrity’s guest who turned up for 

the function in their best outfits. To 

get them to strike the best poses, the 


photographers shouted directions to 

them, complimented them and often 

said quite weird things. 

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja 

wedding celebrations seem to be just 

starting. Aamir Khan arrived late for 

the wedding but stayed back to pose 

for this photo with Anil Kapoor, 

Rani Mukherji, Ranveer Singh and 

Arjun Kapoor. Ranveer and Arjun 

were also seen singing Masakali from 

Sonam’s film, Delhi 6, with a live 

band during the festivities. 

The other Kapoor family on 

Bollywood is also well represented 

at this wedding. Sonam Kapoor’s 

Veere Di Wedding co-star, Kareena 

Kapoor Khan, reached her shaadi 

venue with husband Saif Ali Khan, 

sister Kareena Kapoor and media’s 

darling, son Taimur Ali Khan. 

Taimur and Saif were twinning in 

pink kurtas while Kareena chose an 

elaborate pink lehenga. Don’t miss 

Kareena’s look for the afternoon do 

too. Sonam Kapoor is the glowing 

bride as she reaches the venue. 

Dressed in traditional red with 

jewellery adding to the allure, she 

posed for the cameras. 

Groom Anand Ahuja is already 

at the venue and has chosen a light 

brown bandhgala for the occasion. 

Karan Johar was seen earlier reaching 

the venue as well. 

Sonam Kapoor’s wedding, 

which will take place according to 

Sikh rituals, will be solemnized this 

afternoon. The wedding festivities 

will end with a party in the evening 

at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. 

The wedding invites, instead of an 

ostentatious invitation card, was a 

beautifully designed e-card that said, 

“Your presence on our special day 

is the only gift we desire.” The dress 

code for today is Indian traditional 

and mentions no colour, unlike the 

Monday mehendi ceremony. 

Sonam is then expected to focus 

on her Cannes appearance as she 

walks the red carpet at the prestigious 

film festival for the eighth time. She 

also has to promote her film with 

Kareena Kapoor, Veere Di Wedding. 

Sonam and Anand have postponed 

their honeymoon keeping her 

schedule in mind.

where they pledge to share 

every joy and sorrow with each other 

and that invisible bond is called wedding. 

Generally, families decide for 

their loving child. Engagement ceremony 

is one of the pre-wedding ceremonies 

where two people exchange 

rings by giving each other a lifetime 

commitment. 

So, here also, two people came together, 

held hands and took promises 

to stay at each other’s side, namely 

Abhimanyu (S/O Smt. Sarla & 

Shri Om Singla) & Ritika (D/O Smt. 

Meenu & Shri Om Kishan Gupta). 

This grand ceremony brought grand 

happiness in both the family’s lives. 

The ceremony was organized at the 

high premium hotel of Gurgaon, The 

Ritz. Everyone assembled at the hall 

by 7’o clock and took the proceedings 

further. Abhimanyu spruced up 

in a designer beige coloured suit and 

amazed everybody once he entered 

the hall. On the other side, Ritika 

picked something unique to make 

it a signature statement. She wore 

a Beige red-coloured Net Lehenga 

which she paired with the sparkling 

diamond jewellery. 

It was a musical evening where 

everyone enjoyed to the fullest with 

Party songs, sometimes dance performances, 

singing bands etc. Every 

effort made by all to make the evening 

a memorable event turned into

an everlasting memory. A surprising 

performance by the bride-groom 

family was the real charmer of the 

ceremony. 

Wedding Mehendi 

Fantasy 

Every bride waits for the day to 

adorn her hands with her husband 

name and it is the most adorable 

wish which every girl wishes. Just 

like other girls, Ritika also dreamed 

of planning her Mehendi story. The 

Mehendi artist created a love story 

on her hand alongwith Abhimanyu’s 

(Groom) name. Adorning 

Mehendi on both sides and feet on 

the wedding day was an old dream 

which Ritika accomplished today. 

The artist adorned the bride with 

the latest trends of Mehendi style 

and was looking outstanding. Ritika 

was looking really pretty in the light 

green pink Lehenga. 

The ceremony place was given a 

western-traditional touch and garnished 

with colourful flowers, candle 

stands, etc to provide a beautiful am 


iance to the people. The girl 

squads surrounded the Mehendi 

wala, waiting for their turn and were 

taking time to pick one design like 

Urban, Arabic, Jaipuri Mehendi to 

adorn their hands. 

Bride’s sisters and friends 

planned an incredible dance routine 

to amazed Ritika. Makhan Lal Singla(MLA), 

Amrit Singla (Mapsko 

Group), Prem Singla, Sohan Singla 

& Krishan Singla managed the whole 

wedding with their ideas and really 

made it a memorable day for their 

lovedones. They showcased a medley 

performance on the stage and dedicated 

a song to the happiness of the 

beginning of her new life. Ritika’s 

Mom & Dad (Meenu & Om Kishan 

Gupta) also gave their daughter a token 

of love by reciting a poem for her.

Bright & Vibrant 

Haldi Riwaaz 

After a long waiting, finally, the 

day has come the very next morning. 

All the wedding guests have reached 

now. Everybody looked forward to 

setting up all the arrangements for 

this significant Riwaaz, Haldi Ceremony. 

Wedding gifts, wedding decors, 

wedding guests, catering, transportation, 

makeup artists and many 

more, need individual attention to 

get the work done. So, Ritika’s family 

booked an event planner to do 

them all. Yes, things get accessible 

with an event planner who can handle 

all. Family members began applying 

Haldi on Ritika’s hand, face 

and feet and she was bedecked in 

bright, vibrant attire. Haldi adds up 

more charm to the bride’s skin and 

this is the most significant reason for 

applying Haldi. The glowing Ritika 

looked more flawless by the end of 

the ceremony. 

Now, everybody is eagerly waiting 

for the wedding night and thus 

began wedding preparations. Ritika 

was asked to take rest after the ceremony 

as she has to keep awake the 

whole night. Relatives and friends 

blessed Ritika by presenting gifts to 

her. 

Sehra Bandi & Barat 

of Abhimanyu 

A Sehra is the head-dress along 

with a turban worn by the Groom. 

Traditionally, worn with Garlands 

or Strings of Flowers hanging which 


covers the groom’s face. Thus, 

Abhimanyu wore a White turban 

with white flower strings. All the 

Baratis assembled at the groom’s residence 

and waiting ahead to arrive at 

The Leela Hotel . 

And finally, at 6’ o clock the Barat 

left the residence to reach the venue. 

With great excitement and enjoyment, 

everybody reached the site at 

7’o clock. The Bride’s mother and 

sisters welcomed Abhimanyu and 

Baratis. Everybody looked astonishingly 

stylish and adorable in wedding 

apparels. Abhimanyu, embellished 

in a White Sherwani paired it with 

emerald bead necklace came to get 

his queen Ritika while sitting on the 

White Horse. And when he entered 

the hall, a new chapter turned over. 

Varmala and Vows 

Everybody assembled in Leela 

hotel garnished with high premium 

décor. The Wedding stage was ornamented 

with Orange, Pink, Red and 

white, all blended flowers. A Drone 

camera was capturing every precious 

moment at the wedding. The Groom 

went inside the venue and walked up 

to the wedding throne with wedding 

songs played in the background. 

It seemed like some story and 

watching all, Ritika entered the hall. 

She wore a unique Rani Colour Bridal 

Lehenga engraved with Radha 

Kishan and other carvings on it. She 

made her style statement when she 

wore that white coloured Rani-Haar. 

And when they met, Couldn’t take 

their eyes off from each other. A love 

story began just and there. Both took 

a promise of being with each other 

by binding them in a visible Garland 

called Varmala. All that teasing and 

pranking took place to make the moment 

much more memorable for the 

couple. 

Everybody loved the exquisite 

servicing of chefs and the food. The 

event planners brought everything 

which you wish to eat in Abhimanyu 

and Ritika Wedding. It was a mem-

orable wedding and moreover a 

dream wedding. 

Now everybody moved to the 

Wedding Mandap designed in an 

ancestral style with 21st-century 

touch. The bride-groom sitting arrangement 

was talk about as it was a 

unique style. 

The wedding silver chowkis beautifully 

decorated with flowers alongwith 

the Mandap’s pillars. And the 

Last and the most crucial Rasam began 

when they take seven vows by revolving 

around the Agni seven times. 

This stage is the everlasting moment 

for both the couple and explicitly 

states that they are the heavenly-made 

soulmates now. 

Abhimanyu took the first three 

Pheras to assure that he would protect 

her throughout his life and Ritika 

promised Abhimanyu to share every 

problem & to be with him in every 

joy-sorrow by taking the last four 

Pheras. At the end, both the families 

congratulate them and blessed them 

for their new beginning.

Roka Ceremony of Kanika and 

Abhinav on 12th March, 2018 

is taking a new turn now. 

Wedding preparations have started 

now and everybody is waiting for 

them to get reunite for forever. It is 

said that Lord Hanuman symbolizes 

strength, unparalleled devotion 

and selfless service and moreover 

he would protect you from every 

hurdle. So, keeping that in mind, Mr. 

and Mrs. Rajinder Kumar Aggarwal 

planned a Sundarkand Path to keep 

away all the hurdles from Kanika’s 

and Abhinav’s life. 

The puja was kept at Agrasen 

Bhawan, Suvidha Kunj, Amar Shahid 

Bismil Marg, Pitampura. Everybody 

assembled there by 4:30 pm. Kanika 

was dressed in an elegant white 

Sunderkand Path to shower 

blessings on the wouldbe-couple 

(Kanika and Abhinav) 

embroidered Lehenga.All the family 

members present at the Sunderkand 

Path recited the prayers and wished 

for Kanika-Abhinav's new married 

life.The Pandit ji was invited to take 

all the rituals forward. 

It was a great get together at the 

Agrasen Bhawan and the puja was 

accomplished by offering sweets 

(Parshad) to all. Well, everyone is 

keenly looking forward for the most 

awaited day, Wedding .

Sagan Ceremony 

An auspicious event celebrated 

in the happiness of union 

of two families, Tilak Ceremony 

was organized & enjoyed with 

colossal jubilation. The prominent 

ceremony took place in the exclusive 

luxury hotel, Seven Seas, Rohini. Its 

grand entrance and opulent spacious 

halls are perfect to make extravagant 

and memorable affairs. 

The Sagan ceremony of Anisha 

( D/o Anju & Sanjiv Wadhwa) with 


Karan (S/o of Sunita and Late Shri. 

Surinder Makhija) on 10th June, 

2018 was a noble and splendid event. 

Members of the bride’s family put 

Kumkum or Vermillion on his forehead 

and present them gifts as a token 

of love. Both the families happily 

participated in the event. Anisha and 

Karan were looking great together 

and presented with lots of wishes. 

Apart from this, to make the ceremony 

memorable, everybody showcased 

their love in the form of Music 

and Dance performances in front of 

Bride-Groom-to-be. The event completed 

with an exchange of gifts, fruit 

basket, jewelleries, sweets and many 

more. This ceremony was a representation 

of the union of two families. 

Dreams of the Heart 

Etched on the Palms 

Like earlier days Mehendi ceremonies, 

Anisha’s was something

extraordinarily different from others. 

Starstruck Team organized the 

whole event on 22nd June with their 

exotic ideas. The bride to be was 

seated on a customized Dulhaniya 

Bridal Lounge. The Roseate as a 

venue looked splendiferous with the 

Rajasthani décor. The elegant flowery 

touch to the place made it much 

more appealing. Anisha looked chic 

in her vibrant dress. A fancy ornate 

swing was kept in the ceremony as a 

beautiful background to click with. 

Anisha’s family and friends 

squads were all looking dashing. The 

surprising part was Anisha’s performance, 

and she rocked the evening. 

Vibrant bangles & Phulkari Dupattas 

were handed over to all ladies 

who attended the Mehendi. Anisha 

looked really happy with her flawless 

smile which clearly meant that this 

day was memorable for her. 

Rocking Night- Sangeet 

& Cocktail 

At night, everybody started getting 

ready for a little hangover with 

frolic fun. After adorning unique 

patterns on hand, it’s time to adorn 

a stylish outfit and step into the western 

night. Bringing them in a highly 

contemporary upscale hotel, The 

Roseate stationed in the capital city, 

New Delhi was chosen as a venue. 

Roseate House has 50 spacious 

and tastefully well-furnished rooms 

including 11 specially designed 


suites. It postures itself as a narrative 

of cosmopolitan hospitality that 

knits through every room and floor. 

It was a high-privatized party with 

great entertainment. It was a memorable 

night and a talked night. The 

highly expert photographers of Starstruck 

team made the event much 

more precious by capturing precious 

moments. 

D-Day#23rd June# 2018 # 

Anisha Weds Karan #Forever 

Love 

The wedding is a day which arrives 

in everyone’s life once in a lifetime 

and a day of turning life. The 

new chapter of their life was about to 

begin in the best premium wedding 

venues in Gurugram, The Ritz which 

is perfect for signature weddings. Really, 

Anisha’s & Karan’s wedding was 

a signature wedding with their grand 

entrances. The Barat arrived at ten 

on the site. Karan was looking dapper 

in an off-white golden coloured 

Sherwani which he paired it with 

trendy jewellery. Carrying a sword in 

his hand was signifying a royal king's 

wedding night. Grooms’ mother was 

dressed in a designer Saree which 

looked ravishing. But when Anisha, 

our beautiful bride came in a Red- 

Gold Sabyasachi Jaipuri Lehenga, 

nobody could take off their eyes. She 

was looking like a Royal queen and 

impeccably magnificent. After the 

entrance of both Bride and groom, 

they exchanged Jai Malas and proceeded 

for Sajankot. 

Bon Appetit! The wedding had 

the exquisite culinary arrangement 

and was the talk of the Baratis. Further, 

the wedding was completed 

by taking seven vows around Homa 

(Agni Kund). The Wedding Mandap 

was embellished with beautiful flowers 

and was extraordinarily designed 

uniquely to match the dream ideologies 

of the couple. All the elders blessed 

the couple for their new beginning. 

Also, they offered wedding gifts to give 

them as an everlasting memory.

families got into the preparation of 

the next foremost event, Engagement 

ceremony. The Sagai attires were 

impeccably gorgeous and specially 

designed by the renowned designer 

for this significant day. The Prince 

& Princess of the day was looking 

dapper.

of the town especially the sumptuous

corner into two – Veg and Non Veg 

items. The delicious food was perfect

luscious culinary for the guests. The 

whole wedding was a surprise event 

including venue decoration. The 

venue was decorated with flowers 

and shandleys which looked really 

appealing. The rows of pink roses 

on the entrance were going with the 

bride’s gown and were creating magic 

in the engagement photograph. By 

the end of the evening, both the 

families exchanged gifts, such as 

clothing, jewellery, sweets and other 

auspicious things. Now, finally, Isha 

is officially booked and everyone 

seeking for the wedding preparations. 

Sangeet - Banni Dheere 

Chalo Sasural Galiyaan 

After Sagai, an evening began just 

three days before wedding day where 

all the family ladies were present 

to create the auspicious event 

(wedding) everlasting. Isha dressed 

in all finery which she was gifted 

on tikka and made to sit on a silver 

‘chowki’ or low stool. Ladies from 

both the bride and groom’s family 

sit around the bride. The whole 

ceremony was carried forward with 

melodious Marriage songs like Banni 

Dheere Chalo Sasural Galiyaan and 

the synchronization with Dholaks 

and Harmonium was just perfect. 

Mehendi ki Raat 

It is a saying that a girl’s Makeup 

is incomplete without Mehendi 

Adorning. Also, it is the most 

awaited ceremony for every girl. 

The Mehendi ceremony organized 

at Isha’s place. Isha was all spruced 

up in Light Green Lehenga. All 

her friends and family members 

surrounded her while she was sitting 

in the center and adorning Henna 

send by Manish’s Mother. The 

Mehendi Artist was a renowned artist 

of Paschim Vihar who was applying 

beautiful patterns on everybody's 

hands. The evening got to end with 

the brilliant performances by the 

family members. 

Haldi – Kisi Ki Nazar 

Na Lage 

So, finally, the fairytale had turned 

a new chapter of life when the awaited 

day had arrived. In the morning 

time, Isha dressed in a subtle yellow 

suit and Haldi ceremony began. 

In the addition of Telvan, Bride’s/ 

Groom’s family applied Haldi paste 

or turmeric on face, feet and hands 

of bride/groom. This ceremony is 

crucial to keep the Buri Nazar (Evil 

Eye) away and to add new beauty 

charm to their skin. Generally, this 

ceremony performed by close family 

members. 

Gurchari and Barat 

The Gurchari and Barat Ceremony 

are done mainly at Groom’s place. 

By the evening, all the Baratis got 

assembled at Manish’s residence at 

5:00. Everyone was looking stunning 

and adorable in their

especially groom’s mother and 

father.After the assembling, all 

arrived from the residence which 

was followed by Groom’s sisters and 

other cousins offering Chana ki daal 

to the Ghodi. 

Manish wore unique Beige – Red

looked like a King when he entered 

the crowd with a stone embellished 

sword. The band accompanied the 

groom with the families dancing 

their way to the venue.

The Barat reached by 8 P.M 

and welcomed by Bride’s mother 

Sulochana Aggarwal with Aarti. 

Bride’s sister sprinkled water on the 

groom with a twig of a Neem tree. 

The arrangement at the wedding 

was stupendous and the decoration 

by Deepali Designs was a success. 

Manish took his place on the stage 

and our beautiful Isha entered the 

hall wearing gorgeous Red Bridal 

Lehenga with her cousins. She 

looked stunning. A fascinating trend 

in weddings, the brotherhood moves 

with the bride till the stage while 

carrying “Phoolon Ki Chaddar” and 

gave their loving, adorable sister to 

the new family. 

Furthermore, the Varmala 

ceremony proceeded by both Bride- 

Groom and everybody gave blessings 

to the new couple. They then goes 

around the homa or the sacred 

fire seven times, this is called Saat 

Pheras. Bride’s dupatta tied to the 

groom’s waistband. And finally, Isha 

wedded Manish and tied up in a new 

responsibility.

the three techniques which help you to 

achieve the look you crave. These tricks can 

magically enhance your look. One compliments 

another but there is a slight difference 

between both of them. So, let us understand 

the difference first. 

Contouring is when we redefine or reshape 

our facial structure by redefining our nose, 

cheekbones, forehead and chin by shading 

and using a skin tone which is generally darker 

than ours but you should never use too dark 

tone. 

Highlighting on the other hand is used to 

balance the contouring by using a highlighter or 

concealer on the most prominent positions of 

your face and for highlighting we generally use 

lighter skin tone highlighter to complement our 

complexion and move the lightening to emphasize 

our facial features. 

Contouring, as we have discussed is about redefining 

or reshaping the facial structure but that 

doesn’t make it time-consuming or anything to be 

afraid of. Contouring is not a complex process and 

it is quite simple and effective in bringing your best 

features out or enhancing them. There are three keywords 

that you should be aware while adopting contouring 

techniques and they are: 

• Sculpt: Sculpt refers to carving or redefining your 

bone structure such as cheekbones, nose 

by applying a contour powder. They use sculpting

• Illuminate : Illuminate refers to lighten up the high

Traditionally four C's of a 

Diamond are: 

Carat, Clarity 

Colour, Cut 

The fifth C is the Certificate of 

the Diamond where the four C's of 

the Diamond is mentioned. Why 

are these five C's of the Diamond 

so important when it comes to 

buying a Diamond? The answer to 

this question is straightforward, the 

four C's of a Diamond is essential 

because they determine the beauty 

and value of your Diamond while 

the 5th C, i.e., the Certificate of the 

Diamond is your guarantee for the 

quality promised. These four C's will 

give you a fair understanding of the 

value of a Diamond before you plan 

to invest in it. Let us understand this 

one by one. 

CARAT 

Carat is a unit measurement 

for the weight of a Diamond. It 

determines the weight of a Diamond. 

100 cents is equivalent to One Carat. 

Similarly, 50 cents is equivalent 

to half a carat. Understanding the 

carat weight of your Diamond is 

very important because carat is the 

characteristic of a Diamond which 

determines the size of the diamond 

means how big your diamond will 

look. Though bigger is not always 

better. A 0.25 ct Diamond may be 

more valuable than a 0.50ct diamond

Diamonds are formed deep inside 

the Earth when Carbon is exposed 

to tremendous heat and pressure. 

This may lead to the formation of 

many internal characteristics in 

the Diamond called 'Inclusions' 

and external characteristics called 

'Blemishes.' Clarity of the diamond 

tells us about these internal and 

external characteristics of the 

diamond. Lesser the Inclusions and 

Blemishes in a Diamond, higher is 

its value. The Clarity Grades of a 

Diamond are as follows: 

Flawless No Inclusions and 

No Blemishes visible under 10X 

magnification. 

Internally Flawless (IF) No 

Inclusions visible under 10X 

magnification. 

Very Very Small Inclusions (VVS1 

VVS2) Very very slight Inclusions 

visible under 10X magnification 

(by a Trained Grader). Very Small
