Welcome... 

The summer season is coming to an end and we are looking 

forward to bringing a host of top shows to the Princes 

Theatre this Autumn. 

Amongst this seasons highlights is a very special 50th 

Anniversary show by Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics 

who achieved their greatest chart success in the 70s with 

songs “You Make Me Feel Brand New”, “Go Now” and 

“You are Everything” to name just a few. We also see the 

return of The Greatest Love of All The Whitney Houston 

show starring Belinda Davids. Belinda received a standing 

ovation following her performance in 2017 when she took 

us on a heartfelt musical journey celebrating Houston’s 

greatest hits. This is a show not to be missed! 

Alongside these we see the return of some very popular 

shows The Magic of Motown, Arrival – Hits of Abba, The 

Real Thing, Chicago Blues Brothers, Christmas Memories 

and the No.1 classical harmony quartet G4. 

Other highlights this season include tribute shows to music 

icons, Take That, Luther Vandross, Roy Orbison, Michael 

Bublè, Bee Gees and Dusty Springfield. 

Our season finale is this year’s Christmas Pantomime Peter 

Pan. We are delighted that the leading role will be played 

by the very talented Marcus Collins. Marcus has had a 

successful and varied music career as a recording artist 

and musical star. He has performed in West End shows 

Hairspray, West End Men and Kinky Boots. Marcus will 

be performing alongside a team of talented actors and 

dancers. Get ready for an enchanting production that is 

sure to bring out the child in you. Book your tickets early to

Roy Orbison remains one of the most distinctive looking, and sounding performers in 

modern music. Barry Steele has been stunning audiences with his uncanny ability to 

recreate the vocal talents of the legendary Roy Orbison, winning rave reviews across 

the globe and is set to put the rock back into ‘Roy Orbison’ as he takes to the stage to 

commemorate this legend in The Roy Orbison Story. Billed as an upbeat and contemporary 

slant on Orbison’s legacy, from the early Sun years right through to the late 1980s, when 

Orbison was experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity. 

So get ready for a night of solid gold 60s hits and 80s contemporary genius as the Roy

Mark Daniels as Ultimate Bublé performs the biggest hits of Michael Bublé in this stunning 

live tribute show featuring his increadable live band.

Now in it’s 11th year touring, the award winning ‘Rule The 

World’ has been recognised as the Number 1 ‘Take That’ tribute 

show in the world! 

The cast recently appeared alongside THE REAL ‘TAKE THAT’ 

on BBC1’s ‘The Graham Norton Show’ and after hearing Dan 

Maines (Gary), a stunned Gary Barlow said in amazement “He 

sounds like me!”. The real Gary then also praised the whole 

band saying “They’re very good these guys!” - not an easy 

statement to acquire from the former X Factor judge. 

This production will take you through the musical highlights of 

‘Take That’s’ career. From the moment the fresh faced boys first 

stepped on stage in the early 1990’s, to Robbie’s huge success 

as a solo artist. The show also features the hugely popular 4 

piece years and the big reunion everybody was waiting for in 

2010 when all 5 members of ‘Take That’ reunited for a brand 

new album and tour. The show is an accurate portrayal of 

Take Thats concerts through the years. With the accuracy in 

mannerisms and vocals, this show will leave you questioning 

whether you just saw the real thing. You will get the feel and 

look of all their biggest arena tours... in a far more intimate, 

close-up setting! 

For this tour, the fantastic Robbie Williams tribute act Dan Budd 

is joining the ‘Rule The World’ cast. Dan was a contestant on 

BBC1’s ‘Let It Shine’ and head judge Gary Barlow was amazed 

by him. He commented “You are an amazing impersonator and 

it’s unbelievable how much you look and sounds like Rob”.

Feel the immense power and thunderous rhythms of Irish dance brought soaring into the 

21st century with this fresh take on the traditional. 

With an exhilarating mix of original scores, our incredible dancers (Lord of The Dance, 

Riverdance, Ireland’s Call) invite you into their world - from traditional soft-shoe 

choreography to explosive Irish Tap routines and from the sensual fire of Salsa and the 

smooth coolness of Jazz to the prim precision of Ballroom. 

World class vocalists and stunning live instrumentalists also perform classic songs such as 

Danny Boy, Carrickfergus and Shenandoah right through to more modern, contemporary 

acoustic music in the style of Ed Sheeran. 

You’ll be taken on a journey to the Celtic Otherworld, a mythological Heaven. When sinister 

elements threaten the paradise, the Queen of the Otherworld calls upon mortals, Emerald

both the BBC and ITV, Julia specialises in 

documentaries and consumer affairs and is 

also known for co-presenting Countryfile. 

November 12th JULIE SUMMERS with 

‘WAR ON THE HOME FRONT’. Julie will share 

her knowledge of the social history of WW2. 

November 19th THE GYPSY CARNIVALS 

bring the sound of the 1930’s Paris back to life 

with their selection of gypsy jazz and modern

Audiences have the opportunity to catch one of 

Tchaikovsky’s world famous classical ballets The 

Nutcracker when the highly acclaimed Vienna 

Festival Ballet company returns to town. 

The enchanting tale of The Nutcracker is one of the 

best-loved ballets and centres around Clara and 

her nutcracker doll, which magically transforms 

into a princely soldier. Their adventures see the 

Prince and Clara combat the Mouse King and

for every household in the District, the Council is operating Free after 6.00pm parking 

for everyone. All TDC car parks (except The Naze and Holland Haven) are free from

Carnarvon Road has space for up to 200 cars all evening, ground level only. The car park is 

well lit and also covered by CCTV and regular security patrols.

The Penis is celebrating their 20th Anniversary with 

the hilarious Greatest Bits Tour. 

This brand new show brings you a collection of all of 

their “greatest bits” which is sure to “make audiences 

roll in the aisles in uncontrollable fits of laughter”. 

Come and see the Eiffel Tower, the Lochness Monster, 

the Pelican and of course, the iconic Hamburger, 

alongside a host of new installations. 

For those of you who wonder how a show featuring 

naked men manipulating their dangly bits could 

go on the conquer the world, creator Simon Morley 

will first be serving up some Cocktale’s in what the 

Scotsman called “a gobsmackingly good story”.

The Real Thing - Britain’s Top Soul & R ‘n’ B group had 

three million selling hit singles in the 70s ‘You To Me Are 

Everything’ ‘Can’t Get By Without You’ and ‘Feel The Force’. 

In the 80s they were all remixed and became huge hits 

again, thanks to the band’s massive following. 

Original vocalists, Chris Amoo and Dave Smith, perform 

these hits and many more live on stage with their own 

fantastic 5-piece band. Enjoy tracks like ‘You’ll Never Know 

What You’re Missing’ ‘Whenever You Want My Love’. 

Along with their 5-piece band, the trio deliver a funky ‘in 

your face’ show with a strong ‘retro flavour’ with the band’s

Clacton’s Princes Theatre will be transformed once again on Saturday 17th November into a 

Victorian Christmas Treasure Trove. 

Over 30 local community groups will be offering a wide range of festive fayre to raise vital 

funds for local charities. The event which is one of Clacton’s most popular, opens the doors 

from 9.30am to 3.00pm and stallholders clad in Victorian costume will be selling Christmas 

gifts and crafts, stocking fillers, Christmas cards, home crafted jewellery, sweets and soft toys 

to name just a few. 

Santa Clause will make an early visit for those children wishing to hand him their Christmas 

goody list by kind invitation and as a guest of The Clacton Rotary Club. The annual event 

usually attracts over 1500 people, who have never been disappointed with the goods on offer. 

Neil Sands and his brilliant west end cast are back with their 2018 Christmas production 

which has been described as “like a sparkly Christmas card come to life” It is a truly 

spectacular mix of over 60 of your favourite Christmas songs and carols, 40 stunning 

costume changes, lots of good old fashioned festive fun, and a unique atmosphere that 

will warm your heart on the coldest winters day, taking you back to a time when Christmas 

really was the most wonderful time of the year.
