The Air Force Academy is a national treasure . It has earned national awards and recognition making it one of the premier educational institutions in the country . In its short history, the Academy has established a tradition of producing leaders of character for the Air Force and nation–they include astronauts and doctors, pilots and support personnel, CEOs and entrepreneurs, lawyers and teachers, inventors and ministers, elected and appointed government officials and coaches and authors . Graduates have garnered this nation’s highest awards including the Medal of Honor and numerous Air Force Crosses and Silver Stars .
