18 years ago you<br />
could have found<br />
owner, Jonathan<br />
Martinez, on an<br />
aircraft carrier in<br />
the middle of the<br />
Pacific. Originally<br />
from El Paso Texas he found his way<br />
to Los Angeles after joining the Navy.<br />
When stationed in Oxnard, Ca as a Naval<br />
Seabee (United States Naval Construction<br />
Battalions), he found a passion for<br />
building and remodeling.<br />
In 2004, Jonathan started JNR2<br />
Construction. He reflects on when<br />
he landed his first job as a general<br />
contractor. “I started as a paint<br />
contractor with a small crew and small<br />
truck”, said Jonathan. “I remember the<br />
day I used to go to J Nichols restaurant in<br />
Marina Del Rey and sit at a corner table<br />
calling leads for any painting jobs.” After<br />
many calls and determination, Jonathan<br />
landed his first big client Keller Williams.<br />
He remembers the crew painted entire<br />
exterior of house in one day!<br />
He didn’t stop at painting. In 2011, JNR2<br />
Construction started specializing in steel<br />
retrofitting. He knew residential homes<br />
in California would eventually structural<br />
reiforcement due to earthquakes.<br />
In 2014, he made <strong>Inglewood</strong>, Ca his<br />
home. There he saw so much potential<br />
and was hungry to grow his business<br />
further. “With every job we do, somehow<br />
we’re always learning something.” said<br />
Jonathan. “It’s been a great ride so far<br />
and I can’t wait till we give some of these<br />
bigger primes a run for their money.”<br />
