I am Frank Pfefferkorn, associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and chair of the 2013<br />
ASME Manufacturing Science & Engineering <strong>Conference</strong> (SEC 2013) and 41 st SME/NAMRI North American Manufacturing<br />
Research <strong>Conference</strong> (NAMRC 41) to be co-located in Madison, Wisconsin, USA on June 10-14, 2013. I seek your financial support<br />

These conferences have been co-located since 2011. This forum is designed to disseminate the most recent results in advanced<br />
manufacturing research through technical papers, technical presentations, poster sessions and panel discussions. We are expecting<br />
approximately 350 attendees, including 50+ students and 100 attendees from outside the US. Attendees are researchers, engineers and<br />
manufacturers from academia, government labs, and industry.<br />

MSEC 2011 / NAMRC 39<br />
This was the first year that the ASME Manufacturing Science and Engineering <strong>Conference</strong> (MSEC) and the<br />
NAMRI/SME North American Manufacturing Research <strong>Conference</strong> (NAMRC) were co-located. There is one host,<br />
one conference location, joint keynotes, panels, tours, meals, and registration fee. Each conference’s scientific<br />
committee handles the paper/presentation review/acceptance and publication process. The conference was held on<br />
the Oregon State University campus (Corvallis, OR) on June 13-17, 2011 and organized by Prof. Brian Paul.<br />
Note: The Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers also participated in this conference.<br />
