Winnetka Covenant Church (1200 Hibbard Road, Wilmette) Community Kitchen On the first and third Thursday of each month a group meets in the church kitchen to prepare food for the Community Kitchen of A Just Harvest. The suite is one open room. ~Recently updated In Memoriam Delia Bauby Delia Bauby, formerly of Wilmette, died July 27 at home at the age of 42 years. Bauby was a warm, caring person; soft-spoken and big-hearted. Her focus was always on family, friends and those in need. The family will deeply miss her calm demeanor, spirit for life and the joys she brought into its lives each and every day. Bauby’s battle against ovarian cancer lasted three years. She never felt sorry for herself, Bauby channeled her energy into requests to our Heavenly Father Yahweh for protection and • 380 sq. ft. This suite is one open room • 440 sq. ft. She touched many different people she worked with over the years, especially her loving friends at Whole Foods Sauganash. Bauby will be sadly missed by husband Leo Bauby, children Melissa, Marcel, Henri and Natalie + her many friends and family members. Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 25 at St Patrick’s Church, 612 Highland Ave, Dixon, Il 61021. Donations may be made to Sterling Newman Catholic High School in honor of her children. Shirley Brooks Shirley Brooks, nee Levin, of Wilmette, died July 31, with family at her side. She was 96 years old. Brooks was the loving mother of Barry (Diane) and Allen; cherished Nana Shir of Chad (Erin) Brooks and a treasured great-grandmother of Mallory, who brought a smile to her face every time she saw her. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins — all of whom had a special place in their heart for a woman whose sarcasm and strong personality were second to none. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irving Isaac Brooks, her parents Elizabeth and Jacob Levin, her sister and brother-in-law, Rochelle and Jack Eisenberg, and her brother Leonard Levin. A chapel service was held Thursday, Aug. 2. at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road in Arlington Heights. Interment at Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Beloved wife of the late Peter Zazvrskey; loving mother of Sandra (John) Williams, and John (Mary) Zazverskey and the late Patricia (Norman) Koziol; proud grandmother of Brian (Joleen) Williams, Karin (Raul) Babolea, Jenna (Chad) Pahnke, Katie (Justin) Roering, Maggie (Mark) Mohning and Peter (Allison) Zazverskey; great grandmother of 8. Visitation and funeral were Friday, August 3, at Saint Joseph Church, in Wilmette. Internment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
