Paris – September 11, 2012. <strong>Ingenico</strong> (Euronext : FR0000125346 - ING), lead<strong>in</strong>g worldwide provider of<br />
<strong>payment</strong> solutions, today announces that it has been selected as supplier of <strong>payment</strong> term<strong>in</strong>als for<br />
<strong>the</strong> launch of fully-fledged <strong>NFC</strong> Mobile <strong>payment</strong>s <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Czech</strong> <strong>Republic</strong>, <strong>in</strong> partnership with<br />
Telefonica, Visa Europe, Komercni Banka and Samsung.<br />
Telefonica, operat<strong>in</strong>g under <strong>the</strong> name O2 <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country, has presented a ground break<strong>in</strong>g novelty to<br />
its customers, offer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> exchange of <strong>the</strong>ir classic SIM cards for special SIM cards support<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>NFC</strong> technology, with a prepaid credit of CZK 250 (circa €10). This <strong>enables</strong> to try out <strong>mobile</strong> <strong>payment</strong>s<br />
immediately <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> O2 stores, or at any po<strong>in</strong>t of sale <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Czech</strong> <strong>Republic</strong> where contactless<br />
<strong>payment</strong> is made available.<br />
For this project, <strong>Ingenico</strong> has supplied its contactless iWL 220 term<strong>in</strong>als enabl<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> use of <strong>mobile</strong><br />
phones to pay <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> stores with <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>stalled devices. This new experience follows <strong>the</strong> successful<br />
<strong>pilot</strong> with <strong>the</strong> Globus retail cha<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country end 2011.<br />
This <strong>pilot</strong> is foreseen by Telefonica as <strong>the</strong> official launch of <strong>mobile</strong> <strong>payment</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> country. The<br />
contactless technology offers higher convenience toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>in</strong>tuitive and secure <strong>payment</strong>s,<br />
address<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> evolv<strong>in</strong>g demand of <strong>the</strong> end users. The 02 gurus <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> 120 stores throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>Czech</strong> <strong>Republic</strong> underwent a special tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for <strong>the</strong> commercial operation, to make <strong>the</strong> customers<br />
familiar with new technologies.<br />
