GRAVIS: The ‘Idea Card’ helps the Apple specialist to attract and retain customers<br />

Hamburg, Germany, May 2010. In collaboration with the customer ret<strong>en</strong>tion specialist<br />

easycash Loyalty Solutions, a company of the ing<strong>en</strong>ico Group, GRAVIS has created its<br />

own gift voucher. This practical magnetic stripe card has be<strong>en</strong> on the market since 11 th<br />

May 2010.<br />

“There is certainly a reason why gift cards are becoming more and more ess<strong>en</strong>tial as a<br />

paym<strong>en</strong>t method, service elem<strong>en</strong>t and marketing instrum<strong>en</strong>t”, explains Dr Markus<br />

Brückner, Head of Marketing at GRAVIS Computervertriebsgesellschaft mbH. “All<br />

indicators show that they are both a major tr<strong>en</strong>d among customers and, as a means of<br />

customer ret<strong>en</strong>tion, a huge contributor towards rev<strong>en</strong>ue g<strong>en</strong>eration. As a result, offering<br />

a digital gift card has become a matter of course, especially for us as a digital lifestyle<br />

retailer. easycash Loyalty Solutions was our first point of contact wh<strong>en</strong> we started to look<br />

into creating our own card and we know that we are in the best of hands: From the<br />

planning phase right through to its integration into the POS, the project was carried out<br />

in a completely professional and co-operative manner.”<br />

Use It All over Germany: The GRAVIS Idea Card<br />

The new gift card, or better said the ‘idea card’, as it has be<strong>en</strong> fittingly labelled by<br />

GRAVIS, has be<strong>en</strong> available in an initial print run of 30,000 copies since 11 th May 2010<br />

and can be used in all of the 29 stores of the digital lifestyle retailer in Germany. It is<br />

available in one design and can be topped up with any amount and redeemed using the<br />

card terminal. Customers will also soon be able to check their gift card balance on the<br />

GRAVIS website.<br />
