THE POTENTATE'S WORD
Richard Gamewell - Potentate 2018
Greetings Nobles and Ladies,
Since our last issue of the Salaam the Temple has been dark.
We will become active again the second Friday on September
14th for our Stated Meeting.
In July, the Temple sent two Representatives to the Imperial
Session in Daytona Beach, Florida. This Imperial Session lasted
4 days in which 44 resolutions were voted on and amended or
passed as new Imperial Bylaws. Imperial Chief Rabban Jim Cane
was voted in as the next Imperial Potentate. All the Imperial
Divan were also voted on and these positions were filled.
Be sure to check your calendars for upcoming events at the
Temple. Along with our Gun Show and Bingo nights, we will be
holding our first Suntide Shrimporee in September and a Casino
Night in October. Please come out and support these Templewide
events.
In closing, please keep the Family of Past Potentate Illustrious
James Woods in your thoughts and prayers. James passed away
on Friday, August 10th. James was a good friend to so many and
will be deeply missed.

James Woods, Past Potentate
Illustrious Sir James Woods passed away
on Friday, August 10, 2018 after a
courageous battle with cancer.
He was Potentate of the Al Amin Shrine
Temple in the year 2013.
Mr. Woods was an active member of Al
Amin after his tenure in the Divan. He was
Chairman of the East West Football
games, Bingo Chairman, and a member of
the Clown Unit as well as being an active
participant in the gun shows and a
member of the Circus Committee.
James was a beloved member of the Al
Amin family and will be greatly missed by
us all.
Memorial arrangements are in progress
and will be announced at a later date.
