Blenheim Park expansion to go ahead after purchase approval
The City of Ryde has won government approval to purchase three
properties at Blenheim Park in North Ryde to bulldoze to create more
parkland.
The Council had accused
the property owners of
“holding out” to get the best
residential market price for
the properties but they responded
by accusing the
council of not making them
a reasonable offer and
sending correspondence to
a defunct email address.
Ryde MP Victor Dominello
welcomed the government
decision on Friday and he
urged the council to start
work on the new park as
soon as possible.
“These three residential
properties on the corner of
Epping and Blenheim roads
were rezoned for public
recreation to provide more
open space for the rapidly
growing North Ryde community,”
he said.
“The owners of the properties,
who had previously
attempted to have them
rezoned for development of
apartment buildings, then
requested the council acquire
the properties on the
grounds of hardship.
How to stand out?
A budget make-up can increase saleability.
• In your kitchen: change the door knobs, tap covers and resurface your
benchtops. Do not change the tap positions to keep the plumbing cost low.
• For the bathroom and laundry: re-paint dated tiles, change the vanity,
basins or taps.
• In your bedroom: resize your bed to make the room looks spacious and
use window bay position for sitting /storage.
• Remove old timber partitions to create open plan living, install laminated
flooring to replace torn out carpet.
