Libraries and<br />

schools in Epping<br />

celebrating Children’s<br />

Book Week.<br />

This year’s theme is titled<br />

‘Find Your Treasure’<br />

with a range of activities<br />

including a Book Week<br />

costume parties.<br />

These local events are<br />

hosted by the Children’s<br />

Book Council of Australia<br />

(CBCA) which brings children,<br />

authors together<br />

illustrators and children<br />

together to celebrate a<br />

love of books.<br />

Ermington Library is<br />

celebrating with the Paint<br />

Parra Read project which<br />

includes story reading,<br />

singing and rhyming<br />

along with Redsee the<br />

Readasaurus for littlies<br />

from birth to 5 years.<br />

Epping Library is having<br />

a special Book Week<br />

Story Time session with<br />

stories, songs, and craft<br />

on Friday, August 24 ,<br />

while staff at Carlingford<br />

Library have put together<br />

a treasure themed trivia<br />

challenge about characters,<br />

authors, subjects,<br />

places and more.<br />

Lord Mayor, Cr<br />

Andrew Wilson today met<br />

the winners of the local<br />

bookmark design competition<br />

where six children<br />

aged between five and<br />

12 years received a book<br />

pack for their winning<br />

entries, which have been<br />

turned into bookmarks.<br />

“Congratulations to the<br />

winners and it’s good<br />

to see some of the fine<br />

messages that children<br />

are coming up with to<br />

promote reading,” Lord<br />

Mayor Wilson said.<br />

Tenders are called for the licence of the School canteen for<br />

the remainder of the school year commencing 15 th October<br />

2018 (Term 4) and for a term of approximately 4 years.<br />

Annual school enrolments will be approximately 1070.<br />
